Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it compatible with Panasonic lumix gh4? Do I need converter.

A: Yes it is. No need to buy a converter as long as you buy the micro four thirds version.

Q: 2. Will this lens work on Canon 80d?

A: Sorry, I don't know. I have Canon 60D.

Q: 3. will this lens work on a Pentax me super body?

A: Yes, the Rokinon 85mm f/1.4 AS IF UMC Lens for Pentax K will work with the Pentax ME Super body.

Q: 4. What is the thread size !

A: There is no thread. The front lens sticks out too far to allow the use of filters. I use the lens mainly for night photography and really like it.

Q: 5. will lens work with canon t6i?

A: Yes, it does.

Q: 6. is this works on Nikon d810 for Astro photography??? SPL for milkyways and landscapes ??

A: As you own a full-frame camera, yes, the Samyang 35mm f/1.4 AS UMC Lens for Nikon F (AE Chip) may be used on the Nikon D810 DSLR camera to photograph the Milky Way. However, I say that with a caveat. 35mm is normally the shortest wide angle lens that is typically recommended for use when trying to photograph the Milky Way with a full-frame camera for two main reasons: First, it is one of the shortest focal lengths that will still allow you to capture a majority of the Milky Way. Second, with shorter wide angle lenses, you have a shorter amount of time before the rotation of the Earth starts to cause star trails, which can make your image look slightly blurry. It simply depends on what you are trying to capture. The Samyang 24mm f/1.4 ED AS UMC Wide-Angle Lens for Nikon, B&H # SA2414AEN, may allow you to capture more of the landscape and the Milky Way, and allow you to have longer exposure times to capture detail before incurring star trail issues, but it is a personal preference.

Q: 7. For 75% stills use and 25% video, would this be the better lens or the T1.5 DS cine lens? Thanks

A: If it is primarily for photos, this lens would be the better option. If it were more on the video side, at that point I would say the T1.5 would be a better go to option.

Q: 8. Can I control the aperture of the lens with my camera on a Sony body and shoot with Aperture priority. I am a little bit confused because some of the reviews online make it sounds like it only works for Nikon body

A: My camera is a Sony a77II. I use this lens on aperture priority. Aperture adjustments are made manually on the lens. Camera adjusts shutter speed depending on conditions. I have enjoyed the lens. Have taken some great portrait shots. It does require more work from the photographer ie. manual focus and aperture adjustments which is not a bad thing for an amateur like me.

Q: 9. Can it be adapted to micro four thirds camera with a simple Nikon f/g MFT adapter?

A: Yes you could use an adapter like this one. https://bhpho.to/2HDHV81

Q: 10. Does this focus in the opposite direction as my Pentax lenses? In other words, does it focus the Nikon/Pentax way or Canon/Zeiss way?

A: It focuses the Canon/Zeiss way.
