Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Can I use this on my non-digital Canon Rebel2000? It does use the EF mount.

A: Yes the Holga Lens for Canon DSLR Camera, will work on Canon EF mounts, and should be fine for a Rebel2000 with EF mount.

Q: 2. If I shot on an EFS crop sensor, about what length is it? Example pictures look like maybe 50mm?

A: It is a 60mm lens, no matter what camera it is attached to. When attached to a Canon APS-C camera, it will give approximately the same angle of view that a 96mm lens would give on a full frame body.

Q: 3. does it crop on 5d mark iii?

A: it works like any other lens dependent on the camera. if it is full frame it works like any other lens on full frame. if the camera is 1.6 then it shots as any other lens put on 1.6 camera. in short its a fun lens to put on any canon camera.

Q: 4. What packaging does this come in? Do I at least get a basic lens cap, or should I grab one?

A: Holga Lens for Canon DSLR Camera comes with a front and rear push on cap and a manual included in the box.

Q: 5. The directions say I should be able to change the aperature but when I attach it to my lens and put it in manual, the aperture just says F-- and I can't change it. I also can't figure out how to get the flash to work. How do I get it to allow me to change aperture and also use the flash?

A: When using the Holga Lens for Nikon DSLR Camera,F/8 lens, one cannot change aperture, because the lens only has one aperture, ( f/8 ). When this lens is connected to the Nikon body you have chosen, the flash will not function. It is possible that mounting this Holga lens on a different camera body, may facilitate the flash function.

Q: 6. lens cap

A: Yes, Holga Lens for Canon DSLR Camera comes with a front and rear push on caps.

Q: 7. Has anyone tried this with video ? You could get a real "retro" effect, especially in B&W.

A: Yes, this lens gives a nice retro look in video.

Q: 8. Will this work with the D200? Thank you

A: Yes it will. This lens is for the Nikon F mount and couples appropriately. A caveat however: you will need to program your D200 to work with a non CPU lens in order to get appropriate auto exposure functions - though manual exposure works just fine (camera may say /0 if not programmed, by the way). Furthermore, I *believe* this is designed for an FX size sensor so you will need to consider the 1.5x crop multiplying factor (i.e. 90mm equivalent) in your shooting/setup.

Q: 9. When I tried to use on a Canon M6 Mark II with an COMIX adapter, the aperture just says F00 and can't take the pic... Anyone with this problem?

A: To be able to take a photo you would need to set the Canon M6II to release the shutter without a lens in the camera menu.

Q: 10. Is this lens plastic or glass?

A: The manufacturer does not list the material of the Holga Lens for Nikon DSLR Camera, though it's likely made of plastic.
