Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this Quantum QF35 octa fit a Norman LH2 bare bulb head?

A: Yes it would be compatible.

Q: 2. Would it fit Bolt VB-22?

A: Yes, it would.

Q: 3. it is compatible whith bowens mount?

A: No, the Quantum Instruments QF35 Octa Softbox Kit would not be compatible with Bowens mount flashes. It is specifically designed for use with bare-bulb flashes, such as the options from Quantum Instruments, Bolt, Brilla, Godox, Interfit, or Sunpak. If you are looking for octabox options for the Bowens S-mount, I would recommend the FotodioX EZ-Pro Octagon Softbox (36 , Bowens Speed Ring), B&H # FOEP36OBOW, the FotodioX EZ-Pro Octagon Softbox (48 , Bowens Speed Ring), B&H # FOEP48OBOW, or the Westcott Rapid Box Octa XL for Bowens (36 ) B&H # WE2040S, as options that would work for your usage needs for Bowens S-mount flashes..

Q: 4. Does this work for continuous lighting?

A: I have not tried it with continuous lighting, but it works great with all my Nikon Flashlights BRB

Q: 5. Will this work with the Yongnuo flash units? Which Cable to use?

A: I am not familiar with that flash. Contact Quantum Instruments. 630 - 233 1545 or 630 - 246 5002

Q: 6. Can the Quantum QF-82 be used on-camera using the Trio/Trio Basic?

A: I would not recommend using the Quantum Instruments Beauty Dish on the Quantum TRIO flash mounted onto your camera. Depending on your camera and lens combination, the Quantum Instruments Beauty Dish may be too large and bump against the lens. It would definitely block the Autofocus Assist Light and the Auto Sensor on the front of the unit, and is not recommended if you are using either of these for your images. You may try it on your equipment to see if it works with your gear combination, but you may get better usage from usage on a light stand.

Q: 7. Will this work with the Brilia BB-110N?

A: Yes it does work with any bare bulb flash

Q: 8. Do you know if i can transport this battery in registered luggage plane?

A: I've only packed mine with my camera equipment in my carry on camera bag. No Problems

Q: 9. So it is said that 2nd socket (B) is used in both ways to power flash and for charging the battery itself. I wonder if it might power flash (socket A) and charge itself at same time (socket B)?

A: When the charger is plugged in and charging, you cannot turn the battery on to power a flash. I just tried this and I am sure I remember reading this in the manual.

Q: 10. Will this work with the Bolt VB-22? I need a reflector like this for the Bolt flash

A: The Bolt VB-22 and the Quantum Trio share the same mount. This reflector is to for Trio and therefore it is not compatible with the VB-22. Bolt sells a B&H# BOVBUMK. It may be what you are looking for.

I USE THIS FLASH ATTACHMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL APPLICATIONS. THIS IS WITHOUT A DOUBT THE BEST THRERE IS! YOU ARE ABLE TO USE A LOWER ISO WITH THIS PRODUCT BECAUSE OF THE STRONGER BULB. THE ONLY THING I DON'T LIKE IS THE WEIGHT OF THE BATTERY PACK.

I use this with my Nikon D-600 and the 70-200 2.8 VR lens on TTL for outdoor portraiture, often times with backlighting and competing with the sun, shooting way back at 200mm, with matrix metering and exposure-compensating up or down on flash as needed. I've had great luck. Hypersync works well, although I usually try to shoot as close to 250 as posible to get full flash power when needed. It never overheats. On an old Turbo 2x2 I get over 500 flashes per charge, and that's at close to full power (I'm trying to compete with the sun). Using matrix metering on aperature priority I'm sure to get proper exposure information for my background, wich I'm usually underexposing by one stop through exposure compensation on the camera. When not tryiing to bring down highlights in the background, that is, when my background isn't too bright, I follow Quantum's recomendation of using center-weighted metering and it's almost always spot on. I haven't used this flash indoors yet.

I will use it for protraits. Good quality product easy to setup and use. Being a Quantum product I felt that the set up would accomodate my TDR 5 Quantum flash but it is setup with a shoe mount for speedlite or the Trio. I will have to modify my equipment in order to use it with my exsisting equipment. On the Quantum website there are no helpful tips.

On the camera or as a remote this is the best flash available for traveling jobs. A little on the exspensive side. I use the Q for weddings so I find it indespensible.

Beautiful & consistent light. It's better, 1000 times better than your Canon, Nikon or any other brand flashes. I have these flash for some time and when I go back to manufacture brand name of camera flashes then i realize how good Quantum Trio flash are. Get it, you won't regret it.

When you attach the Quantum Qflash CoPilot in your hot shoe it tightens solidly with a wheel lock and eliminates any synch cord from camera to flash head with three radio frequencies for synch and other controls that actually make the unit a pro worthy piece of equipment. This is the way Quantum meant the unit be used!
