The Heliopan Bay 1 RG 695 (89B) Infrared Filter corresponds to a Wratten 89B filter is designed to help capture images of how a subject reflects or transmits infrared light.

Infrared light waves occupy the space in the electromagnetic spectrum behind visible light due to their longer wavelengths. Many surfaces and materials react to, or emit infrared light waves differently than visible light waves, which provide the potential for photographs of subjects or subject properties that are otherwise invisible to the human eye. Such images require an infrared-sensitive medium such as infrared film or a digital photographic sensor which may be more effective when used without the infrared-blocking filters that are frequently built over them.

Conventional light sources such as the sun, photographic strobes, or incandescent lighting may be used to provide infrared illumination. However, because infrared films or digital photographic sensors can be more sensitive to the relatively higher energy and shorter-wavelength visible light those sources also emit, the effects of infrared light can be otherwise obscured. The Heliopan Bay 1 RG 695 (89B) Infrared Filter makes it possible to capture images of how subjects are illuminated by infrared light by blocking near-infrared, visible, and ultraviolet light waves while allowing 90% of infrared light waves 695nm or greater into the lens it is mounted onto.

This filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and features a brass filter ring for durability and jamming prevention.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this enclosure support 20TB drives?

A: As per the manufacture the largest supported drives for the OWC ThunderBay 4 4-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID Enclosure are 18TB.

Q: 2. I have never owned a RAID 5 device before. I will be needing it for large video projects. 1) If a drive goes down will the rebuild automatically happen when a new drive is swapped in? 2) Will this rebuild happen even if the computer I am using at the time doesn't have SoftRaid installed? 3) Will the system be able to continue to run even with one drive down? (While I am waiting for a new drive? 4) How often in your experience has a drive failed?

A: The answer is that if the Thunderbay comes pre-formatted (and it should), then it will work -- you just have to pay attention when the computer warns you there might be a format or journal error on the hard drive and make sure you replace the damaged drive with the exact same model internal hard drive. It's also recommended that you spend the extra money now to purchase that exact internal hard drive now just in case its discontinued later and so you can swap it out immediately if there is a problem. The extra drive is an expense but it's better than losing a project. As an archivist, I would also recommend getting an LTO tape drive for backup, but as a small company, I admit we don't do this while I'm working -- only after a restoration is completed. What I do is duplicate my files out on other hard drive systems for safety. (Yes, I have a lot of hard drives.) I have two Thunderbays and two Mercury Elite Qx2 and only had one of the latter failed so far -- a lost journal -- and Data Rescue software saved everything.

Q: 3. What is the cost to upgrade the softraid to allow Raid 5?

A: You can get this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1385771-REG/owc_other_world_computing_owctb3srkit0gb_thunderbay_4_four_bay_drive.html

Q: 4. What is the largest Seagate IronWolf Pro drive that Synology accepts for this NAS storage?

A: At the moment, the largest Seagate IronWolf Pro drive Synology lists as compatible with the Synology DiskStation DS1522+ 5-Bay NAS Enclosure, is the 16TB model, B&H # SEST16000NT1.

Q: 5. would these drives work? https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1499412-REG/seagate_st16000nm001g_exos_16tb_enterprise_hdd.html?

A: Yes, the Seagate 16TB Exos X16 7200 rpm SATA III 3.5" Internal HDDs are compatible with the OWC ThunderBay 4 4-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID Enclosure.

Q: 6. What is the power(Watts) consumption for this NAS?

A: The Synology DiskStation DS223j 2-Bay NAS Enclosure comes with a 60w power supply unit.

Q: 7. Hi, is it necessary to have both drives of the same capacity or is it possible to have one 16TB drive and a 12TB drive?

A: It is possible to use hard drives with different capacities in each bay of the Synology DiskStation DS224+ 2-Bay NAS Enclosure, B&H # SYDS224PLUS. Keep in mind that if you intend to use traditional RAID 0 or 1, you will lose the extra capacity of the larger drive. For example, if you have a 16TB drive and a 12TB drive in a RAID 0 configuration, the total usable capacity will be 12TB.

Q: 8. Can I install 2 8 tb & 2 3 tb drives and have Raid 1 on each of them seperately? Which version do I need? Can I move over from an old OWC Thunderbolt 2 enclose the hard drives that are set as RAID 1 and 2 new drives of 8 tb but one has DATA & the 2nd 8tb is pending for the Raid 1 setup.

A: You can have two different RAID families in this box, however moving drives from another box with a RAID family already configured may not be compatible.

Q: 9. Can I have 4x 20tb hard drives as Raid 5 and have a Mac and PC (Windows 11) connected and using the drive at the same time?

A: The OWC ThunderBay 4 4-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID 5 Enclosure should be able to support 4x20TB drives in RAID 5, however, it can only be connected to one computer at a time. In order to have the ability to connect to both the Mac and PC simultaneously, you will need a NAS.

Q: 10. why the money back to the card returned a week after the payment ?i ordered a hard drive (472$ owc )i am from Kazakhstan,i wrote my address, can you make shipping for Kazakhstan?

I use this product to reduce camera shake while shooting from a tripod. It doesn't work from behind the camera body but for the price I can live with that. If you are just starting out and trying to keep this hobby affordable, I highly recommend this very functional wireless shutter release.

I use the remote for closeup product photography. It makes the pictures clear and sharp where I don't have to use the VR on my lens.

The Nikon remote control has worked faultlessly for time exposures. It is easy to use, especially with the additional time delay options with Nikon's DSLR family of cameras. Great for night shots, IR filters, etc.

Not a lot to say, it's got one button that trips the shutter remotely. Its small, and it is about the cheapest, most useful camera accessory.

The remote works as advertised. It worked in front, from the side, from above, and from behind. But I was using it inside my house. I suspect the signal was able to bounce off the walls to get it to work from behind. I used it to include myself in pictures. Its pretty useful for self portraits or to be part of a group photo for anyone with a D40, D40x, D60. You can't go wrong with it for the money.

This makes family portraits a snap. Even taking pictures on a tripod have become simple. For under $20 this item is a MUST for everyone!
