The Heliopan Bay 2 RG 665 Infrared Filter is designed to help capture images of how a subject reflects or transmits infrared light.

Infrared light waves occupy the space in the electromagnetic spectrum behind visible light due to their longer wavelengths. Many surfaces and materials react to, or emit infrared light waves differently than visible light waves, which provide the potential for photographs of subjects or subject properties that are otherwise invisible to the human eye. Such images require an infrared-sensitive medium such as infrared film or a digital photographic sensor which may be more effective when used without the infrared-blocking filters that are frequently built over them.

Conventional light sources such as the sun, photographic strobes, or incandescent lighting may be used to provide infrared illumination. However, because infrared films or digital photographic sensors can be more sensitive to the relatively higher energy and shorter-wavelength visible light those sources also emit, the effects of infrared light can be otherwise obscured. The Heliopan Bay 2 RG 665 Infrared Filter makes it possible to capture images of how subjects are illuminated by infrared light by blocking near-infrared, visible, and ultraviolet light waves while allowing 90% of infrared light waves 665nm or greater into the lens it is mounted onto.

This filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and features a brass filter ring for durability and jamming prevention.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Dose it come with a thunderbolt cable and if so what length?

A: Yes, a 1 meter cable is included.

Q: 2. Can I back up another NAS I already own (DS1621+) to this NAS from a different physical location?

A: Yes, as long as the Synology DiskStation DS224+ 2-Bay NAS Enclosure is loaded with enough drive capacity to cover everything in the NAS you already own, it could work as a backup in a different physical location.

Q: 3. Is the Ram upgradeable?

A: No, the Synology DiskStation DS223 2-Bay NAS Enclosure's RAM is not upgradeable.

Q: 4. Can I configure my 4 hard drives so that one (my fastest) can be identified independent from the other 3? And then set up the older 3 to function as a single JBOD? Thank you for considering.

A: Yes, you can have one drive as an independent disk, then, from your comments, the other three set up as a RAID 0 array.

Q: 5. what is the warranty for this device (box AND drives)?

A: This product has a Limited 3-Year Warranty.

Q: 6. I understand I will need to install SoftRAID on my computer. Does that mean I cannot use a separate computer as well?So for example: I work on a desktop in my office w/ SoftRAID installed. Does that mean I won't be able to take the drive home and work on my computer at home? Thank you!

A: I didnt install any software on my MAC. The drive came self raided. I did register the drives. After registering if a drive foes out it will send an email to you that a drive has malfunctioned. You can hotswap the drive.

Q: 7. how do u check raid in this for bad sectors? i usually run apple disk utility and secure erase 2x on individ drives but what about RAIDS? i no see option for that on apple DUtility.

A: Apple Disk Utility should not be used with the OWC ThunderBay 4 4-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID Enclosure. You would need to use the free SoftRaid software to manage and maintain the unit.

Q: 8. How much does it cost to How much does it cost to upgrade to "SoftRaid" software to do all RAID configurations?

A: SoftRAID Software would be included with this product.

Q: 9. Does the SoftRAID software run on an iMac?

A: Yes, SoftRAID runs on a Mac. I've been using it since Apple stopped including raid in DiskUtility

Q: 10. I understand some users are having issues with the TB 3 connection dropping some drives randomly. (Note: similar problem existed with TB2 version and certain Macs, I experienced that myself). Has there been any resolution to those connectivity issues?

A: Peter,I had this problem extensively when I first bought the Thunderbay 4 enclosure. But I've since solved the problem. It now has happened only one time since then. Please bear with me while I explain how I fixed the problem. BTW no amount of searching the internet will help you. This took months of trouble shooting to figure out the solution.I have a new (2017) iMac Pro base model. I have the ThunderBay 4 enclosure and an OWC Thunderbolt 3 dock. The dock is used to add some much needed extra ports, most needed was the legacy Firewire 800 of which I have many FW800 external drives. There are two buses on the iMac Pro for the four (4) Thunderbolt ports on the back. The first two ports are on one bus, the last two are on the other bus. Being the neat freak that I am (and why I buy Apple products) I had both the TB4 enclosure and the TB3 dock connected to the last two thunderbolt ports, thus being on the same bus. You cannot do this (why, I don't know). You can check this by clicking on the About this Mac in the (black) Apple menu (top left corner) and then go to System Report. Go to Thunderbolt and you'll see Bus 1 and Bus 2, you'll see what I'm talking about.SOLUTION: You MUST have the TB4 enclosure and TB3 Dock each on it's own bus. So, connect one device to either the first two ports and the other device to one of the last two ports. Since then, I have only had a drive drop once (and that was when I had another external USB-C drive connected to the same bus as the TB4 enclosure). So I would guess this would be a problem on any Mac. Keep the TB4 Enclosure on its own bus and I'm guessing it's fine. So, at the end of the day, it's a GREAT enclosure. Compared to my other RAID drives, it's way quieter! Still some fan noise, but way more tolerable than my Sans Digital 2 bay RAID. The TB4 Enclosure sleeps and wakes with the iMac - Nice!. You do get the SoftRAID software, which is pretty nice. The only issue there is the drives do not show up in the Storage tab of the About this Mac window. So you have to do a Get Info on the drive from the Finder window to see how much storage is available on the drive.Lastly, if you do have an iMac Pro, be sure to contact tech support when you set up the drive. Apple has installed some unique security settings on the iMac Pro that need changed. OWC will be happy to walk you through the fix.Hope that helps.

You can't imagine how tiny this little remote is until you see and hold it...amazing, and tucks away in its little case quite easily in your bag or any other small place...have to be careful not to lose it! It works with two of my cameras...the P900 and D7500, so it's a doubly useful little device. Click and shoot after setting the remote timer on your camera.

This was purchased to trigger the camera shutter when doing critical sharpness such as macro work. It works perfectly and the B&H service was exemplary as always.

I enjoy taking close up shots. The Nikon ML-L3 wireless remote control is a great tool to avoid camera shake and give me nice, sharp images. The unit is small and easy to use and works as advertised on 3 of my 4 Nikon dslr cameras. I am a happy camper and would recommend checking out the ML-L3.

At first I was baffled not knowing how to make it work. I think I did correctly set up in the camera menu setting. Yet the remote was not working at first. I checked the battery and it was a brand new one.
So I called NikonUSA technical support and the technician told me about sensor next to nikon logo on the front upper right of my d7500.
Also I noticed that in the battery chamber there was a cellulose stuck to the new battery which I did not notice first time when I opened it. I removed the cellulose away from the battery and learned also the remote infrared does not work when I used the remote while I kept the remote inside within the case.It looks like I have to take it out from the case to use it to work.
The other finding was that after I use the remote I have to go back to the menu setting to switch the menu from off to on. For some reason I have to switch the remote setting every time I have to use it again.
Maybe I don't know how to keep it on.
Other than that it is a sleek small light and nice looking remote. I love it.

Infrared remote is so 80s, but still works great. Fires off the camera fine. You can point it at the wall, and it will bounce back to the camera just like the old TV remote. It works great up to a point of course.
However, when the battery is old, you have to point it more and more towards the camera.
