The Heliopan Bay 70 RG 715 (88A) Infrared Filter corresponds to a Wratten 88A filter is designed to help capture images of how a subject reflects or transmits infrared light.

Infrared light waves occupy the space in the electromagnetic spectrum behind visible light due to their longer wavelengths. Many surfaces and materials react to, or emit infrared light waves differently than visible light waves, which provide the potential for photographs of subjects or subject properties that are otherwise invisible to the human eye. Such images require an infrared-sensitive medium such as infrared film or a digital photographic sensor which may be more effective when used without the infrared-blocking filters that are frequently built over them.

Conventional light sources such as the sun, photographic strobes, or incandescent lighting may be used to provide infrared illumination. However, because infrared films or digital photographic sensors can be more sensitive to the relatively higher energy and shorter-wavelength visible light those sources also emit, the effects of infrared light can be otherwise obscured. The Heliopan Bay 70 RG 715 (88A) Infrared Filter makes it possible to capture images of how subjects are illuminated by infrared light by blocking near-infrared, visible, and ultraviolet light waves while allowing 90% of infrared light waves 715nm or greater into the lens it is mounted onto.

This filter is constructed from Schott glass for increased optical clarity and features a brass filter ring for durability and jamming prevention.

A: Apple Disk Utility should not be used with the OWC ThunderBay 4 4-Bay Thunderbolt 3 RAID Enclosure. You would need to use the free SoftRaid software to manage and maintain the unit.

A: You can fill this Synology DiskStation DS1823xs+ 8-Bay NAS Enclosure with Synology's drives, or other 3.5mm drives such as the Seagate IronWolf Pro, or WD Red Pro drives.

A: Yes. That's all i do with it. You can buy without the soft raid i think.

A: Once configured in a RAID array, drives should not be removed from the enclosure unless absolutely necessary. Changing the order of drives or removing functioning drives while the enclosure is active could damage the array and cause data loss.

Nice lens. A bit longer than my F mount 70-200 but a little lighter too. Has the very convenient programmable adjustment buttons that Nikon had added back with the previous version. The control ring can also be programmed away from its normal manual focus function to either aperture or exposure control. Came with a nice UV filter, a Hoya, but I replaced that with a B&W out of habit. 5

Honestly, my preference is an f4, because I personally don't need the speed or the size/weight for my style of photography. But I don't like using adapters (e.g., FTZ + F-mount 70-200 f4), and I don't see an f4 S lens coming out near term, so I bought it. Any complaints of mine would have to do with that -- too big and heavy -- but, bottom line, it's a beautiful lens that produces wonderful results and, if it's speed you need, then this is the lens for you. It's truly a 5-star lens (with the above caveats). 5

I've owned the Nikkor AF-S 70-200mm f2.8E FL ED VR Lens for many years and it was my favorite all-around lens. Since I purchased the Nikon Z7 II it made sense to upgrade to the z mount 70-200mm lens. To no surprise, the z mount 70-200mm is extremely sharp and, in my opinion, out performs its predecessor. I'm not sure how useful the digital display or all the function buttons are, as it is awkward to look/get to them while shooting.... and it would be awesome if Nikon could figure out how to make this lens weigh less. 5

My purchase of this lens completed my collection of the Z 2.8 trinity. Like the 14-24 and 24-70, the 70-200 is an excellent performer. It is quick to focus, very sharp, good color and contrast and excellent build quality. It replaced the 70-200E 2.8, although before I sold the E lens to my nephew, I had both of these lens for 3 days. I did a no. of side by side tests and found only marginal differences between them, but as I am going completely mirrorless, I kept the Z lens as I do not have to use the mount adapter with it. Honestly you can not go wrong with either the Z or F-mount E, they are both excellent performers, neither will disappoint. Both lens are highly recommended. 5

I had rented this lens a few times before making the big purchase, and it's such a great lens. It's a lens every photographer should have in their bag. I may be biased to Nikon, but their image quality speaks to me. I'd definitely recommend this lens 5

I just bought this lens to use with a new Z7II. Out of the box, handheld, sitting in the house with ambient evening light, it was nothing short of amazing! The shorter focal range is a huge plus for closer portraits. The fast, tack-sharp focus is amazing. I used it the next day viewing backyard birds from my sunroom and I couldn't be happier with the results. I can't wait to take it out in the field. My wife and I have been using Nikon since the early '80s when we were finally able to afford it and the Nikon Z body with this lens is just what we hoped to find with aging eyes and less steady hands. 5

This lens has quickly become my go-to lens on my Z7. The pictures are incredibly sharp with rich colors and the bokeh is beautiful. I was able to use handheld to get great pictures in lower light with the aperture wide open. This is a great lens and is very well worth the cost. 5
