A: Having used on Nikon D750 for several weddings, I think it works great for that purpose. Its excellent full frame sensor performs very well in low light, and so a flash (which is sometimes not allowed in churches) is often not necessary. And non-flash photos tend to be better in any case. Of course the right lenses, such as those that can open wide, make a difference here too.

A: I don't know about Fuji or Sony. I moved up from D5100. It is definitely heavier than D5100. When you pair it with Kit Lens 24- 120(Lens itself is very heavy which weighs 750 gms/ 25 oz), it becomes very heavy. 50 mm Prime Lens does decrease the weight. Changing to a strap that distributes weight better also helped me.
