Kodak's Professional Portra 160 is a daylight-balanced color negative film offering a smooth and natural color palette that is balanced with medium saturation and low contrast for accurate skin tones and consistent results. Utilizing the cinematic VISION Film technology, this film also exhibits a very fine grain structure with high sharpness and fine edge detail. A micro-structure optimized T-GRAIN emulsion makes it especially well-suited for scanning applications, and advanced development accelerators offer extended versatility when enlarging. This film has a nominal sensitivity of ISO 160/23° and is particularly well-suited to portrait, wedding, and commercial photography, as well as other general applications.

This item is five 36-exposure rolls of 35mm film.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this scan Kodak Kodaslide stereo slides. I.e. will a stereo slide fit into the 35mm slide carrier?

A: No, the film carriers for the Plustek OpticFilm 8200i SE Film Scanner would not hold the stereo slides properly. You would need to unmount those in order to scan. Or there may be 3rd party holders out there that would work, though we do not carry any currently.

Q: 2. Can you scan at 1200 dpi or 2400 dpi?

A: The Plustec 8200i can scan at 1200 and 2400 dpi.

Q: 3. Can you save directly to an SD card instead of using software and computer?

A: No, it's a strict scanner for pos & negs. It won't even work without using the proper/enclosed software via a suitable computer. It saves to a file on your computer hard drive, or as per demand, from where you can put it an any 'hard media', such as a SD card via an inexpensive card reader. Or an expensive, faster one for that matter. Most computer/laptops, however these days come with a USB port, so you could save your images here without further expenditure, on a USB stick. But image back-up on you computer is always a safer way to preserve important images. You can scan/save in TIF or JPG images. Jim Schultz, Kelmscott, Western Australia

Q: 4. I see that the product descriptions for the Plustek 8200i Ai refers to the inclusion of Silverfast 8. I see an answer to a question that Silverfast is a free upgrade. Presumably the package only includes the Silverfast 8. How does the upgrade work in practice?

A: All paid upgrades are done via silverfast website. In order to upgrade please review the following link. https://bit.ly/3ioTu4G

Q: 5. Can this scanner work with Mac OS? Is the only feature I lose the one touch? Thanks in advance.

A: Works great did all family slides and negatives. Only one touch which i did not use.

Q: 6. I am currently running and Epson V800 using SilverFast Ai 8.8 on an iMac. I’m interested in getting the Plustek 8200i Ai to handle my 35mm film scans using the supplied SilverFast software. My question is will I have any concerns when installing and using the software since I already have it installed on my Imac. My goal is to be able to easily run both scanners (not consecutively) from the same interface.

A: You should be fine. You will be able to install the software on two computers but not run it at the same time.

Q: 7. Does the film holder keep the film perfectly flat when scanning? Does it do this even if only scanning a single image?

A: The film holder holds the strip by the edges and snaps closed, but does not have a mechanism to stretch or otherwise flatten film that is curled. The small aperture of the scanning sensor compensates for normal curvature, but if your negative is severely curled you may not get good results.

Q: 8. is it auto feed or hand feed?

A: It is hand fed.Has slide holder with place for four mounted slidesand a neg holder for one strip up to 6 images per strip. You pop it in, preview, scan and then manually move it on to the next frame.

Q: 9. Does this work with APS film?

A: The short answer is yes. The long answer is; It will fit your film but youll have to readjust for each picture with the trays provided since the film is smaller than the tray. A tray exists for APS film for plustek scanners. eBay has a plethora for about 20-25 dollars. Quality is good enough that resolution wont be a burden for smaller film.

Q: 10. does it work with apple OS 10.10.1 ??

A: Yes. I used it yesterday to scan 35 mm slides. I have an iMac with 10.10.1 and Silverfast 8.2.0r2.
