Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have an older GT1545T and love it except the mechanism that allows you to change the leg angle. The levers that slide across always pinch my hand. Does the GIGT2545T correct that design flaw?

A: I have not had issues with either the old or new version of the Gitzo GIGT2545T. This is the instructions on how to use it and that might help, https://bit.ly/3A7Gre5 .

Q: 2. Will the new gitzo bird watching head fit this pod ?

A: Yes, it will fit but the tripod will be undersized. You may want to go up a series for the head.

Q: 3. Is this tripod sturdy enough to use with a canon 500mm lens with R5?

A: Unfortunately Gitzo GIGT2545T is not strong enough for that combination. I would recommend a stronger tripod like this one. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1328238-REG/gitzo_gt4553sus_systematic_tripod_ser_4_5s.html

Q: 4. Does I have a set screw on the head base?

A: There are two set screws in the top disc, which are there to keep the disc from unscrewing from the center column.

Q: 5. Is there a small tripod-type foot that can be screwed into the bottom of the Gitzo GM2562T Series 2 Travelor Carbon Fiber Monopod. If yes is it a 1/4- or 3/8-inch screw receptor?

A: The Manfrotto XPRO Fluid Base works perfectly when combined with this, and does not add significantly to the size or weight. Its the best combo I could find for a self standing travel monopod.

Q: 6. country of origin?

A: Country of Origen at this time is Italy.

Q: 7. Will the Really Right Stuff BH-40 head fit when tripod is packed up?

A: First of all, the tripod itself . . . is impressive regarding quality and feel. It's comparable to my RRS full size. With the BH 40, the legs fold as expected, but instead of the legs being perfectly parallel, they splay out a bit - because the BH 40 is larger around than the smaller, lighter travel ball heads. The only problem is to make sure your bag is large enough around to fit the slightly splayed legs. It's only about 3/4 wider. All in all, the 1555 and BH 40 make a very nice set-up, and the BH 40 adds a bit of security for larger rigs. I use it with my 5d3 and 100-400 with complete confidence.

Q: 8. Can the short/small center column be removed and inverted as well?

A: The Short Center column is not designed for that. It can not safely be used inverted.

Q: 9. is this the gt1545tus or gt1545t?

A: GIGT1545T

Q: 10. I see that this tripod has no hook for stabilization. Is there a way to attach a weight to this tripod?

A: However, at the edge of the top of the leg set, where the ball head is seated, there is a cast-in hook opening which is designed to take one end of the included carrying sling, and from which one can attach a weight. Altho not at the bottom of the center post, where one normally would expect a weight hook to be, this integrated ring can be used to attach a weight.
