This electronic download of the 4020 Retro EQ HD v6 from McDSP is a 4-band EQ and complimentary filter set. The high-frequency (HF) and low-frequency (LF) bands are shelving EQs, with two additional high-mid and low-mid frequency parametric EQ bands. All EQ bands operate on a gain dependent variable Q system for a vintage smooth sound.

The HF and LF filters use a split-octave design that provides a 12 dB/octave slope near the selected frequency, with a maximum slope of 24 dB/octave. The plug-in uses an output stage topology designed to eliminate digital clipping at any output level and produce a smoother distortion characteristic.

The HD plug-in provides AAX DSP for use with Pro Tools HD, but also includes AAX Native, Audio Suite, Audio Units and VST versions for use with other DAWs including Logic, Digital Performer (DP), Cubase, and Ableton Live.

I'm just beginning to get into astrophotography. I was hesitant to put down $450 (including tax) for my first tracker, but the urge to get into deep sky photography was just too great. I am not disappointed.

This is a great tracker. I've had the chance to use it a couple of times and I'm very impressed with it's performance. It's fairly simple to set up and align, and it tracks very well. Admittedly the first time setting it up took me a while simply because it was all new. I did have some difficulty finding Polaris through the polar scope. It helps to align it before it gets too dark since it can be difficult to differentiate Polaris from other stars once the skies are completely dark.

Once it's set up and aligned (I use the Polar Aligner Pro app for Android to find the exact spot to line up Polaris in the scope) I can easily track stars for 5 minutes without any distortion at 16mm, and 3 minutes at 200mm focal length, without a guiding.

I'm very pleased with the performance and look forward to getting a lot of use out of it.
