Wimberley Wh-200-s Sidemount Wimberley Head
- Product Code: ga262523

The Wimberley WH-200-S Sidemount Wimberley Head is a lighter, more compact alternative to the full Wimberley Gimbal Head. The Sidemount Wimberley head shares the main casting and pan and tilt mechanisms with the Wimberley Head, but a side-mounted Arca-Swiss-style quick release clamp replaces the other model's swing arm & adjustable platform.
The design of the Sidemount Wimberley head allows you to set the center of gravity of the camera/lens over the pan base, for smooth, stable changes to your lens positioning.

Works with Wimberley F-9 Sidekick Bracket (not included) for positioning a flash above the lens

Q: 3. Is this usable with Induro tripods?
A: I'm not familiar with Induro tripods - so can't commend,
Q: 4. I currently have a promaster GH25. I am thinking of buying this gimbal. My reason being that I can only lack the pro insert tied positions, but can never find tune it. Meaning that it will lock at 15° 30° but nothing in between. My question is, can I lock this Gimble head in any degree of tilt that I desire thank you
A: Yes, you can lock the tilt on the Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base.
Q: 5. What plate should I buy for a Tamron 150-600mm lens (on a Canon Mark III)?
A: The plate I use on my Canon 600mm f/4 with this tripod head is 169mm long. It is a bit longer (1 cm on each end) than the tripod foot. This may seem like the extra length is waste, however, I find that depending on which camera body I have on, or an extender, I have to move the balance point forward or backward enough to justify the longer length. I recommend a long length Arca Swiss plate for this reason.
Q: 6. Does this gimbal have have sealed bearings?
A: No visible ball race, it appears to be sealed.James
Q: 7. Hi, everyone!First of all, sorry for my english.Last year, I made the acquisition of a Sigma 120-300 Sport lens and I've been using it until now with a Davis & Sanford Carbonlite Transporter tripod and its FZ10 head. The thing is the FZ10 head doesn't seem to be the best head for such a heavy lens.I actually experienced its limits just last sunday to monday night, during the moon eclipse. So I've been searching the web a little bit since yesterday and it appears the Wimberley gimbal head could be a perfect choice.I consider to add a Wimberley QR plate to it but I have not determined yet which one between P40 and P50.My question is: does anyone know if the Wimberley gimbal head will be compatible with my actual D&S tripod (instead of the FZ10 head)? Thanks alot for your forthcoming help.
A: The Wimberley is a fantastic head, and would be a great option for use with heavy super telephoto lenses such as the Sigma 120-300mm f/2.8. That being said, the combined weight of the Wimberley head and Sigma lens (not including a camera) is about 11.5 pounds. The load capacity of the Davis and Sanford Carbonite Transporter appears to be 12 lbs. So just with the lens and head, you would already be close to the max load capacity of the tripod. This wouldnt be the most stable or secure of set-ups. If you are looking for some more in depth advice on heads and legs, I would suggest sending an email to our Photo Department. They would be more than happy to make recommendations for a set up that would best suit your equipment and needs. Askphoto@a href= http://bhphoto.com target= _blank bhphoto.com/a
Q: 8. is WH-200 compatible with Induro Tripod CLT 303, 3/8"-16 Screw?
A: Yes, the Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II, B&H # WITHQRQ, would be compatible for use with the Induro CLT303 Classic Series 3 Stealth Carbon Fiber Tripod.
Q: 9. Is this compatible with a Sigma 50-500 Canon EF lens, and what sort of QR plate would I need for such? Also, what sort of microfiber tripods would be usable to have the 500mm in front & my tiny Sony A6000 mounted behind and still be able to balance?
A: Hi Dave, I have a sigma 150-500 on a canon 7D mk2 and the WH-200 MK2 performs faultlessly. This is attached to a Gitzo GT 4532LS carbon fiber and is an excellent set up.
Q: 10. Have Tamron 150-600mm what quick release plate would I need? (using on Canon 7D)
A: I believe the quick release with be attached to the lens and not the camera. Call Wimberley and ask them for the correct plate model to work with your lens.
