Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I have a Z6 II and D500. Does this offer any advantage over using the Snapbridge app to trigger remote shutter?

A: A wired remote would have a more reliable connection to the camera and a faster response time.

Q: 2. Is this compatible with the Nikon Z30?

A: The Nikon MC-DC2 Remote Release Cord is incompatible with the Nikon Z30 Mirrorless Camera with 16-50mm Lens. Nikon did not include a remote port in the Z30, but the camera does have built-in WIFI and Bluetooth. You could use a smartphone as a remote with the Nikon SnapBridge App or the Nikon ML-L7 Bluetooth Remote Control, BH #NIMLL7.

Q: 3. Wired remote for Nikon z6 II

A: Yes, the Nikon MC-DC2 Remote Release Cord is compatible with the Nikon Z6 II.

Q: 4. I have this cable but not sure how to lock the shutter for over 1 minute without pressing the button the whole time. How do i lock the shutter?

A: When depressing the shutter button on the remote release cord, hold the button down with your thumb and then slide your thumb forward. Doing so will now lock the remote until you manually slide the button backwards to release it again.

Q: 5. How long is the cord?

A: The Nikon MC-DC2 is 3.3 feet long.

Q: 6. Does this work with Nikon Coolpix P 510?

A: II can't answer that question definitively. I don't own a Nikon Coolpix P510, but I did purchase this remote for my Coolpix P7700 after seeing it listed as an accessory on a web page for that model . The pamphlet that accompanies this item doesn't list with what Nikon models it is compatible. It does contain an illustration showing where the micro-USB appearing plug is inserted into a receptacle on a D90 on the lower left side behind a small flap cover. Your question of model compatibility is well taken. I should have looked more closely at my camera; it contains no such port.. Furthermore, the manual for my camera does not list it as an accessory, so I was really taking a chance when I purchased it. My advice is that if you don't see it in your camera's manual, I wouldn't buy it. Or do so, knowing that you might have to go throught the hassle of returning it. Sorry I couldn't be of more help. I held onto my remote because the cost was modest and I may upgrade to a Nikon camera model that will accept it.

Q: 7. Is this compatable with a Nikon D200?

A: No, the MC-DC2 is not compatible with the D200. The compatible remote release cord is the MC-30A. http://bhpho.to/1ddbWpT

Q: 8. Does MC-DC2 work with the Z6?

A: Yes it does work well

Q: 9. is Nikon MC-DC2 remote release cord compatible with Nikon Coolpix P900?

A: No.

Q: 10. I purchased this MC-DC2 thinking that it would work based on D610 reviews! But it does not connect! any suggestions? I have the infa red version but do not like it ! any ideas???

A: The MC-DC2 is compatible with the D610 via the slot labeled 'GPS'. It is notched on one side to fit that port easily. If you're having trouble with the remote, please e-mail our Customer Service Department directly so we can looking into the issue further at cs@bandh.com. Thank you.
