Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. My church would like to stream on a limited budget, I have heard this is a good camera for that purpose. Is this true?

A: The Panasonic Lumix G7 Mirrorless Camera does not have the ability to stream directly to a computer. In order to stream from the G7 you would need to stream over HDMI to a capture card plugged into a computer.

Q: 2. Under the heading In The Box it states that the lens that comes with the silver camera also has a silver finish, but all the pictures of the combination show a black lens. What does it actually come with?

A: The 14-42mm is black. The only silver lens is the longer 45-150. I purchased the kit with both lenses. Im glad I got the silver it still looks great with the black lens. Hope this helps.

Q: 3. Does this feature a Constant Preview option like the GH4 for viewing exposure changes in stills mode?

A: According to page 53 of the basic owners manual for the G7, it does have the constant preview function listed under the Custom Function menu.

Q: 4. Will the GX8 split clips up in segments if the video length passes a certain amount of gigabytes, like the G7 did?

A: It will, yes.

Q: 5. Phantom power?

A: The Panasonic Lumix G7 Mirrorless Camera does have a 3.5mm microphone input, which does provide low voltage plug-in power (1-5 volts) for microphones that require it. The camera does not have any XLR mic inputs that would supply phantom power (11-52 volts, but most commonly 48 volts), for microphones that need that standard. Please contact us for help choosing a microphone that will work with this camera, or a separate preamp, mixer, or audio recorder that can complete your setup.

Q: 6. Does the G7 have zebras?

A: Yes, it has 2 different modes for zebra stripes.

Q: 7. Did it have video out so you can have a av screen beside when you film or take pictures ?

A: The Panasonic Lumix DMC-G7 features an HDMI output.

Q: 8. Is the sharpness of the lens good for architectural photography? is the tamron lens better than this?

A: The Tokina 11-18mm f/2.8 ATX-M Lens (Sony E, White) is a good lens. But there are ones that are much sharper. The Tamron is a little sharper.

Q: 9. hi , Can i record 4k in a class 10 SDHC SDCARD on the G7?

A: You should be very cautious if you want to use a class 10 SD/SDHC/SDXC card. Class 10 cards have a minimum write speed of 10 MBps. The G7 writes 4K footage at 100 mbps, or 12.5 MBps. As such, a SD card that says that it is rated for Class 10, while it may advertise a up to speed of more than 12.5 MBps, is only required to hit 10 MBps and may not be able to constantly keep up with the G7. The next write speed up, U3, has a minimum write speed of 30 MBps, and will definitely be able to keep up with the G7.

Q: 10. Does the G7 gives me the option to record .MOV files like the G4 and is there any time limit for recording video or is it only limited by the size of the SD card I use?

A: No .MOV file capability, only AVCHD or MP4. According to the manual, if you are recording FHD/HD/VGA, recording will stop at 29min59sec OR when the file exceeds 4GB (whichever comes first). If you are recording in 4K, recording will stop at 29min59sec and the files will be split up into 4GB chunks.
