Related Questions and Answers
Q: 1. Does this have wireless connection?
A: I'm sorry, no, this scanner does not have wireless capability.
Q: 2. Straight out of the box- on an "airgapped" computer system (no internet connection), and using just the included software that is packaged with the scanner- is the maximum photo resolution as advertised at 6400DPI? Or is it like Canon quoting a higher number but in reality only giving you the ability to scan with their software at most at 600 DPI?
A: This scanner has an Optical Resolution of 6400 dpi.
Q: 3. How good is the depth of focus on the V600? I am scanning twigs that are up to 10mm in depth (distance from the glass plate). My old Canon 4200F (a CCD scanner) handled these beautifully but my Epson V19 (a CIS scanner) has no depth of field at all.
A: When using the Epson V600, the depth of focus is extremly shallow.
Q: 4. Is it possible to do wet scans on the V600?
A: No', i'm sorry, there isn't a wet scan adapter for the V600. Epson does make one for the V700. Click the link below to view; https://bhpho.to/2w4oVXb
Q: 5. will this be forward compatible with Windows 8?
A: The Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner is compatible with Windows 8.
Q: 6. Is there a plugin to allow scanning from within Photoshop?
A: I'm not familiar with Photoshop, but I do use a couple of other applications to do editing. Under the File menu, drop down and look for Twain or Acquire or something similar that will allow you to scan from your editing application without having to use Epson Scan or Easy Scan.
Q: 7. I have a MacBook with usb-c ports only. Will this work with the adapter? I thought I watched a review and it said it wouldn’t, could have been an old review. Thanks
A: The Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner can be used with a MacBook (with an adapter).
Q: 8. Does this work with Mac OS 10.15 catalina
A: Here it lists the driver you can download for Catalina. https://epson.com/Support/Scanners/Perfection-Series/Epson-Perfection-V600-Photo/s/SPT_B11B198011?review-filter=macOS+10.15.x
Q: 9. Will film holders made for and used with an Epson V700 fit the Epson V600?
A: Unfortunately no. The Epson V600 has a smaller transparency scanning area than the V700 so the V700 holders would not align properly. However, the V600 comes with it's own holders for 35mm slides, negatives, and 120 film. The V600 cannot scan 4x5 or 8x10 film like the V700 did. The replacement scanner for the V700 is the V850 and it comes with 2 sets of film holders for all sizes up to 4x5. Please take a look at the following link: https://bhpho.to/38wyyag
Q: 10. Is this scanner compatible with a Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5?
A: Yes the scanner will work with Mac OS Mojave 10.14.5, just be sure to update it and you should be fine.
