Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this lens work properly on the forthcoming Blackmagic Ursa Mini 4.6k EF (super 35mm sensor)?

A: This will be compatible with the URSA Mini EF mount camera.

Q: 2. Does it work well as a handheld lens for nature photography?

A: If you are talking about moving subjects I would say it works great. I always use this lens in my daughters Karate Tournaments and it's always tact sharp.

Q: 3. Is the auto focus quick and accurate enough for sports photography such as football/baseball?

A: No. This lens has very slow autofocus, and it is very noisy. You can clearly hear the motor (that's until the auto focus stops working, which usually happens a couple of minutes into use). This is an awful lens when it comes to auto focus. It's a shame since the image quality is second to none. This is not a good lens for sports or video of any kind.

Q: 4. Does it work with the C100 continuous DAF upgrade? Because my tamron 70-200VC does not!

A: Canon only lists that it works with their lenses. And so I am sorry but only information we have is that it might work.

Q: 5. What i need to use this lens on a Sony a99?

A: Unfortunately, there isnt an adapter that would enable one to mount a Sigma SA mount lens onto a Sony A-mount camera such as the a99.

Q: 6. Does it have an Image stabilization function?

A: I do not know. I did not buy this lens. I am sure the description for this lens on the B&H web site would state so, if it did.

Q: 7. Does this lens have a permanently fixed aperture? If not, does it offer aperture control when used with the Speed Booster?

A: I'm not sure I understand your question, but to answer it literally...No, it doesn't have a fixed aperture...a fixed aperture would be a single f/stop on the lens... The aperture goes from f1.8 down to f22. There is no aperture ring on the lens, so you have to dial your f/stop up and dow using the dials on your camera. I have no idea what a Speed Booster is so I can't answer that. What I can say from using this lens almost every day since I bought it is that it is the single sharpest lens I have ever used and I would buy it again without hesitation or qualms.

Q: 8. Will this lens pair well with a Canon 90D?

A: Yes! The Sigma 50-100 f/1.8 DC HSM Art is a FANTASTIC lens for the Canon 90D.

Q: 9. Will there be any vignetting if used with the Speedbooster XL 0.64 on the GH5?

A: Not all lenses work but that lens the Sigma 50-100mm f/1.8 DC HSM Art Lens for Canon EF is listed as compatible by Metabones. But it is not compatible with the in camera stabilization on the GH5.You can see all of this information on Metabones site.

Q: 10. Will this work on a canon rebel T5i?

A: Yes, this is an EF mount lens which will work well on the Canon Rebel T5i.
