Built into a single rack space, the Remote Audio SPEAKEASY R1 is ideal for remote audio production. This self-contained, stereo, 12VDC powered speaker system is housed in a compact and lightweight enclosure. It features a low current draw, while still having the volume needed for use in facility equipment rooms. The SPEAKEASY's main power push-button is located on the front panel and it illuminates when powered on. The front panel also houses the main volume control and headphone jack. When the headphone jack is in use, it automatically mutes the speakers.

The SPEAKEASY R1 features a source selector as well. It allows monitoring of left input only, right input only, stereo or a summed mono version of L/R inputs. The SPEAKEASY R1 has balanced dual XLR jacks and a single unbalanced 1/4" jack, which allows a stereo input signal on the 1/4" connector - meaning a single cable can feed the SPEAKEASY R1. This provides a convenient way to insert the system into an existing rack setup with a headphone feed from a mixer using a TRS to TRS cable. On the back of the SPEAKEASY R1 are two DC input connectors for added convenience. It will operate on 9 - 20 VDC and an external 12 VDC power supply is available (sold separately).

Q: 1. I have a manfrotto 303sph tripod head for shooting spherical VRTV. The Sigma 8mm is so wide it shows part of the assembly if taken to the nodal point. Will this ring solve my problem on another tripod or the 303SPH?

A: It should work with the Manfrotto 303SPH head. But you might need to shift it a little on the head.That lens is very wide and is a fisheye. Most do use very wide lenses for VRTV but not that wide.

Q: 2. Does this work with the Sony A7? Is it compatible with the Sony line of flashes?

A: Yes, this remote is compatible with the Sony A7. The S1 remote will only allow you to control the Interfit S1, not Sony flashes.

Q: 3. Would this kit handle a small camera (Sony PXW-X200) and teleprompter assuming the combined weight is below stated limit. Will it be able to balance with the prompter on? Thanks!

A: We must admit not hearing about using a teleprompter on a crane before. But that is not to say it cannot work. In certain situations it may be the perfect or only solution. That being said, we have the opinion that since the Sony PXW-X200 weighs 10 lbs and the payload of the VariZoom QuickJib Kit is 50 lbs, as long as the teleprompter is less than 40 lbs, you will be good. There may be an outside chance the baseplate cannot go back far enough to balance. In that case, a longer base plate would solve the problem.

Q: 4. Can you sync a 4th interfit s1 to the interfit remote? Or do you have to set the 4th one manually with the dial on the back and set it to slave mode?

A: You can sync more then 4 interfit lights on this remote , you will only have 3 groups , that means each light on the same group will have the same power

A: The transmitter does not have any speedlight compatible receivers.

Q: 6. does this remote also act as a receiver if I bought a second one to connect to my other brand strobe?

A: The Interfit S1 TTL Remote for Canon is a wireless transmitter designed for use on the hot shoe of Canon cameras, and is only compatible with the wireless receivers inside the Interfit S1-series monolights. While it may be used with multiple INterfit S1-series monolights simultaneously, it is a transmitter only, and as such, it will not act as a receiver and is not compatible with other brands' strobes or light fixtures.

Q: 7. What size tripod bowl does this fit into? Standard 100mm?

A: The VZQUICKJIB QuickJib is meant to accept flat and ball tripod heads. If ball, it should be a 100mm head.

Q: 8. Will this work with the Canon XA30/35?

A: Yes. I use these remotes on Canon XA-35s. They work like a charm. Also, another post says they don't have the same size jack. Wrong. They are the same size. It always amazes me when people post about things they don't know the answer to.

Q: 9. The closeup shows a switch on the side labeled zoom direction . What is that? I can't tell from the picture what actually triggers the zoom feature.

A: It allows a left handed user to switch how it zooms. Normally you push down of the right side to zoom out and on the left side to zoom in.

Q: 10. Will this work with a Sony PXW-X200? If yes, do I need to buy a cable adaptor? Which one? Thanks

A: No, unfortunately it will not. The PXW-X200 does not have a LANC connection it has an 8-pin remote connection.
