A: Please do this at your own risk. I did not notice that it was very hard to get it off my lens. You feel as if you're going to break the lens. I would strongly suggest that you spend the money to get the Canon brand one. It was worth the investment. I used to buy Vello brand lens hoods before, but I have since stopped.

A: No it will not. The EW-78D hood is a proprietary hood from Canon designed to work with a small handful of specific Canon lenses. It is not compatible with this Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro lens. The Sigma 150mm f2.8 macro lens is supplied with its own specially designed/proprietary lens hood.
