A: Unfortunately, lens adapters, typically have poor auto focus capabilities. Manual focus is more desirable when using lens adapters and of course using native lenses to achieve continuous auto-focus.

A: Just go to the Metabones website. They have a list compatible lens listed there. From my own experience, adapters work okay but it wont be the same as native lens. For this reason I have decided to stop using adapted lens. But if I were to buy a Sigma I would use their MC11 adapter.

A: I tried using my EF 500/f4 II on my Sony a9, with the MkIV adapter, with the latest firmware update. It was a total failure. It might work for a few minutes, but then it'd get totally lost and useless. OTOH, the MkV works most of the time, with quick focus acquisition and superior tracking. With the EF 100-400mm it works very well, as I've describe; however, the native Sony 100-400mm is light, faster and 100% reliable. I bought the G-Master 100-400mm to gain this reliability and still use the Metabones with my 500mm lens, with the Canon 1.4x and 2.0x TC-III.All comments are for Series II Canon lenses and Series III TCs. Some comments from Metabones makes me think that the firmware may or may not support all Series I lenses.

A: I’ve been using that Canon 24-70 for over a year and a half, first with my A6300, then with the A7RII. The autofocus is great, fast and sharp. Most of the naysayers out there are Nikon users, their Nikon lens to Sony E adapters don’t work as well as the Canon ones. The Sigma mc-11 adapter also works quite well with all my Canon & Sigma & Tamron lenses! Yeah, at 800MM you always get some “hunting”, with an adapter, but keep ypur your Canon body for those cases!
