A: Yes and no. If you rely on Digital Ice, your images will lose detail because the program cannot perfectly differentiate between scratches and detail. You'll get best results with some kind of photo editing software like Photoshop. This is a great scanner for the money, but it can't work miracles.

Q: 2. Can I scan onto an so card?

A: First, there is NO onboard memory slot for an SD card. Secondly as far as I know the V600 requires Epson software to function; so, it would NOT work with a thumb drive connected to the USB slot as far as I know. Really, the V600 is meant to be connected to a desktop/laptop with a monitor, obviously. Now, you do have a few options under the Select File Save Settings menu--so, if your SD card was connected to your desktop/laptop, you could save your scan to that SD card device by browsing over to that location I haven't actually tried this.
