Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this adapter work with the PNY 256gb SD card, other adapter don't see an SD card that big.

A: The manufacture does not list that card but also does not test every brand of memory card. The card specifications should allow it to work.*Note: Only compatible with the following UDMA cameras: Canon EOS 7D, EOS 1D Mark IV and EOS 1Ds Mark III (both of which have Eye-Fi capability already, so the adapter is not necessary), EOS 5D Mark II, EOS 20D, EOS 50D, Nikon D3X, Sony Alpha DSLR-A900, A850 and A350

Q: 2. if camera is having Two slots, one is CF and otherone is SD. so can I use SD cards in both the slots using this adapter in one CF slot?

A: Yes, I tried and it works.

Q: 3. Hello work with Canon 5D Mark Iv?

A: I have a Canon 7D and the adapter works well.

Q: 4. Can the distance scale be changed from Meters to Feet?

A: Yes, one can change the distance scale from meters to feet on the ZEISS Batis 40mm f/2 CF Lens for Sony E. The camera needs to be in manual focus mode. You would then turn the focusing ring 360 degrees past the minimum focusing distance.

Q: 5. CF cards have often been used as disks on very old and newer Macs using PC card or FireWire adapters. Has anyone tried this or other SD-to-CF card adapters successfully as a disk on their Macs?

A: This adapter would work best as a way to use an SD card in a camera that accepts a Compact Flash card. Whether it can be read on a Mac depends on the type of card reader you are using.

Q: 6. Eye af was solved with Firmware V2. PhillipReeves reviewrs claim it was not, to many miss shot. Can any day to day user confirm or deny that? Thanks

A: Eye AF was improved, but still noticeably misfocused after the firmware. I sold the lens as a result.

Q: 7. Zeiss admitted an issue with the close focus aperture problem as well as with eye-AF, but as of February 2019 I haven’t heard their follow up response yet. Any word?

A: ZEISS is currently developing a software update that will allow the Batis 2/40 CF to work within a large focus range with a wide-open aperture. The update will be available to download free of charge as of April 2019 from the ZEISS website. We will notify all registered customers about the update via email. Once the update is installed, the ZEISS Batis 2/40 CF will only automatically stop down at preset aperture values between f/2 and f/2.5 at a focus distance of between 24 and 65 centimeters – in extreme cases (minimum object distance) to max. f/2.8. With an aperture value of f/2.8 and up, the aperture will remain unchanged across the entire focus range. What’s more, the update will enhance the focus accuracy when using the camera’s eye AF function.

Q: 8. Hi ! AF noise it's normal for this lens ? My 25 Batis and 85 Batis no sound when autofocus

A: The AF on this lens is quiet.

Q: 9. At what distance does the Batis 40 stop down 1 stop?

A: One full f-stop aperture setting down from the wide open f/2 aperture setting on the ZEISS Batis 40mm f/2 CF Lens for Sony E would be f/2.8. The minimum focus distance for the ZEISS Batis 40mm f/2 CF Lens for Sony E at all aperture settings would be 9.45 inches (24 cm).

Q: 10. Is this compatible with Atomos Ninja Star Pocket-Size ProRes Recorder & Deck?

A: It works with the Canon 1DC
