Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Recommendations for a handheld gimbal? Crane v2 perhaps?

A: We will need to wait for the camera to be released before seeing what Gimbals it works the best on. However we would tend to think you may need an option that gives you a bit more load capacity, such as the Crane-2.https://bhpho.to/2yLV2Qm

Q: 2. How long is the Canon LP-E6N battery recording in 4K and recording in HD?

A: We will need to wait for this camera to be released for real team results on the battery life. However we feel the battery should last between 45 minutes to an hour.

Q: 3. Is this compatible/been tested with with the Metabones BMCC Speedbooster?

A: This camera has yet to be released, so we are not aware of any specific testing that has been done with it and Metabones adapters. That being said, we are sure there will be adapters available that will work with the camera once it is released.

Q: 4. In "External Recording/Raw Output" section mentioned only 12-bit - does it mean that through USB-C port camera does not write 10-bit ProRes at all?

A: You can choose 12-Bit RAW via USB. That works is because it is data, not video. If you want 10-bit ProRes, (which is video), that goes through HDMI.

Q: 5. Can your record multi-channel audio from different input combinations? So XLR, 3.5inch Stereo and any of the 4 onboard mics?

A: Yes, similar to the URSA broadcast, you can mix and match the audio inputs and how they are recorded. For example, you can do a mono mix of the cameras internal microphones onto audio track 1 and the XLR audio input onto audio track 2.Also: 3.5mm stereo input also allows LTC input and records as proper timecode track in video file

Q: 6. what is the recommended speed of an external HD to record directly from usb c?

A: Currently Blackmagic is suggesting the Samsung T5 Portable Solid-State Drive system, which has write speeds up to 515 MB/s. We will need to wait for the camera to be released for more information and details on exactly what drives are needed for specific modes.https://bhpho.to/2sloSqT

Q: 7. There is inside the camera a low pass filter (olp filter) for the aliasing problem that normally comes out when we shoots films where people are wearing clothes? (and any other textures similar)

A: There is no OLP in this camera.

Q: 8. Where is the Super16 crop mode???The GH4 can do it so why not??C-mount and other S16 lenses give the camera a nice vintage look rather the clinical modern digital look!

A: The camera doesnt have this mode. It is something we are considering in a future update. No promises however.

Q: 9. Any huess on how well the BMPCC 4K will work with the Panasonic Leica 100-400mm and Ronin-S?

A: Two things: 1. We feel there is a strong possibly that the lens will be too long to properly balance on the Ronin S and: 2. A 100-400mm is too long a lens for a stabilizer. The problem would be keeping the subject in frame unless they are a hundred feet away. Generally, stabilizers work the most effectively with wide lenses. A lens like the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario 12-35mm f/2.8 II ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens B&H # PA123528A would be far more appropriate.

Q: 10. Is there a 1.8x anamorphic Desqueeze Mode for display?

A: When using 2.8K anamorphic format on the Pocket Cinema Camera 4K, the camera applies 2x anamorphic desqueeze automatically.
