Q: 1. Does this Epson V600 Scanner work with Mac Sonoma (OS 14.2.1)?

A: Yes. The Epson Perfection V600 is compatible with Mac OS 14.2.1 using Silverfast 9. It is currently free for V600 owners from Silverfast's website.

Q: 2. Does all of the included software work on Mac or is anything Windows only?

A: Yes, this scanner works on a mac.

Q: 3. can i scan photo albums?

A: As long as you can get the page flat on the glass you can scan. Software will set up thumbnails to select each image.

Q: 4. is the optical resolution a true 6400 DPI? I've heard of scanners with similar numbers like canon just digitally beefing up the numbers on the software which can cause some loss in genuine detail. I'm starting with 35mm slides but I'm soon going to be upgrading to medium and large format film in the coming months.

A: Hi Jesse, I own that same scanner and love it, I shot both medium format film and digital, typically I scan my negs. or color transperancies at either 1200 or 2400. and have found to work very well. At times I have scanned 35mm slides at the same resolution. Not sure you need to scan at 6400. I would scan at different dpi and see which one you prefer after you print them at the size you typically print at.Hope this helps you. Rick

Q: 5. My father took hundreds of cardboard-mounted 120 slides (2.75" x 2.75") in the 1960's which I would like to scan. Has anyone out there tried this scanner with mounted 120 slides?

A: For 120 slides, you will have to take the film out of the mounts to scan them in the film holder. This scanner only allows 35mm slides in their mounts to be scanned.

Q: 6. If, scanning a contact sheet, I only want a few of the 36 frames, can I indicate which ones I want to scan?

A: Yes.

Q: 7. Does This have memory card slot or flash drive slots?

A: No. But I am very happy with respect to my main use which is scanning 35MM slides. I tried more expensive machines and thank God B&H took them back no questions asked.

Q: 8. Do you offer for 240Volt scanner? (This is to use in Myanmar as I'm planing to return home soon.)If yes, how to specify when I place my order? Thank you!

A: We do not carry the 240V version of the Epson scanner.

Q: 9. Will it work with Mac Mojave? v.10.14.6

A: Yes, it is compatible with Mojave 10.14.6.

Q: 10. How many slides can it do simultaneously, and what file formats are in the output. (TIF, JPG, BMP?)

A: You can do 4 slides at a time. You should use the preview to make sure the perspective is correct. The scanner software will let you adjust many settings and then save it. I have one called color slides . There are jpg, PDF, bmp, etc. outputs. I find that a jpeg that I can open in PS and tweak is the best solution. I'm very happy with the scanner and have also used it for negative film. Good Luck!
