The 8-24x50 Gladiator Zoom Binoculars from Barska are designed for long distance terrestrial and astronomical viewing. The versatile variable magnification range allows the viewer to scan a large field of view and then zoom in on the selected object to make detailed observations. An ergonomically placed zoom lever allows users to make fast magnification changes while viewing through the eyepieces with a simple movement of their right thumb. The large objectives and ruby multi-coatings draw in copious amounts of light to push the low-light capabilities of the optic, while a large exit pupil at low magnification ensures complete coverage of the user's pupil when it gets fully dilated as light fades. Fold-down eyecups enable comfortable viewing with or without eyewear, and rubber armoring provide a slip-resistant grip. To reduce arm fatigue from holding them, for long duration glassing sessions, or to keep the binoculars steady at high magnifications, they can be tripod mounted using an optional adapter.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Is it possible to use the BMD Zoom Demand with 3rd party zoom motors which have USB as an input? E.g. the DJI RS Focus Motor, Tilta Nucleus Nano (with an Macro-USB adapter), or SmallRig Receiver Motor 3263?

A: The Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand at this time only works connected to Black Magic cameras using compatible lenses. It would not work with any of the 3rd party gear listed.

Q: 2. Will this work with the URSA Broadcast G2 and the Fujinon LA16X8BRM-XB1A 2/3" 4K Pro Lens to control the zoom of the lens?

A: Yes, the Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand will be compatible with the Fujinon LA16X8BRM-XB1A 2/3" 4K Pro Lens.

Q: 3. I'm thinking about to extend the Zoom/focus demand functionality for the Ursa Broadcast G2 camera on remote location. Is it possible using USB extender via CAT5/6 or similar? Which USB standard it uses, USB 2 or USB 3?

A: You may be able to extend the range of the Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand with a USB cable extender but we would still only recommend sending the signal a maximum of 31 feet, and suggest using a signal boosting cable like the Tether Tools TetherBoost Pro USB Type-C Core Controller Extension Cable (16', High-Visibility Orange)(BH #TETBPRO3ORG). Q: 4. Can I control this lens: Fujinon LA16x8BRM with Blackmagic zoom & focus on demand?

A: The Blackmagic Design Focus and Zoom demand will only work with the BM Studio 4k Pro and Plus cameras. The Fujinon LA16x8BRM lens is compatible with the URSA Broadcast and would use the following controls. https://bhpho.to/3BtPYP7 Link to URSA Broadcast kit -https://bhpho.to/353s4hc

Q: 5. I do not see any professional lenses that have variable speed power zoom, specifically, what lens can I actually buy that will work with the Blackmagic Zoom Demand?

A: As the Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand is designed to be used with Blackmagic cameras, you would need to use it along with a power zoom lens that is compatible with your chosen Blackmagic camera, which varies depending on the model.

Q: 6. I have the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm and the speed knob doesn't work. There's only one speed. Any fixes for this?

A: No, I'm sorry, the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens (B&H# PA144235XS) is a basic consumer PZ zoom and doesn't offer variable zoom speed as an option.

Q: 7. What lenses do work with this device?

A: The zoom demand handle will work with MFT lenses with power zoom.

Q: 8. So if the connectivity to the Camera/Lens is through the USB cable, how do you do that with both the Focus and Zoom control if there is only one USB input on the camera?

A: The following unit has a loop a/b ports system to accommodate your focus and zoom needs.

Q: 9. assuming the electronic functions work well with the metabones adapter ... will the BLACKMAGIC ZOOM AND FOCUS DEMANDS CONTROL THE CANON 18-80 CN-E LENS (instead of using the SS-41-IASD)? thanks!

A: No. The unit is designed to be drive zoom control of MFT lenses with power zoom for Blackmagic Studio Cameras.

Q: 10. Are plans for the zoom demand to work with other lenses? I have 3 BMD Zoom Demands on the way and can not find lenses to use them with.

A: The BM Zoom Demand will work with the following lenses on the Studio 4k Pro and Plus. Tested lenses. https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/support/faq/59009
