Q: 1. win10?

A: Yes, there is an updated driver on Epson's site that is for windows 10. https://bit.ly/3idgZet

Q: 2. What are the primary differences between the Epson Perfection V550 and the Epson Perfection V600? Thanks

A: The general specifications of the two are about the same, the major difference in the two is the software included with each. The V600 comes with more programs to work with and they are overall better programs, including the following: Epson Scan with Epson Easy Photo Fix technology, Epson Event Manager, Epson Copy Utility, Adobe Photoshop Elements 9, ABBYY FineReader Sprint Plus OCR, and Digital Ice. The V550 only comes with Epson Scan with Epson Easy Photo Fix and ABBYY FineReader Sprint Plus OCR. The one thing the V550 can do which the V600 cannot is batch scanning. It can scan: 35 mm Film Strip at 12 frames at a time, 35 mm Slides 4 slides at a time, and 6 cm Medium Format: Up to 22 cm at a time.

Q: 3. Can this scan 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 inch negatives?

A: Yes, it scans 35mm and medium format (6x4.5, 6x6, 6x7)

Q: 4. Many of the reviews say the scanner does not work with Windows 10. They were from three or four years ago, but they were the ones at the top of the list of reviews, so is it still the case that the scanner does not work with Windows 10?

A: The V600 is now compatible with Windows 10.

Q: 5. Is there a different model number associated with the older, and from what I've read, and better lens previous to this version?

A: The alternate to this 18-200mm is the silver version.

Q: 6. Does this Epson V600 Scanner work with Mac Sonoma (OS 14.5)?

A: As of 6/23/24, the Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner does not have support for macOS 14 or 14.5. The last supportive OS was Mac 8.

Q: 7. speed of scan?

A: It takes about 2 minutes to scan an 8x10 print.

Q: 8. Is this compatible with the A6000 ?

A: The 18-200mm lens for NEX is compatible with the Sony A6000, yes.

Q: 9. Can you scan 120 negatives in 6x6, 645, 6x8, etc formats? And can you adjust the scan to capture the "outside" of the image to create the "exposed frame" surrounding the image?

A: Yes, you should be able to use the Epson Perfection V600 Photo Scanner to scan 120 medium format film without the film holder to capture the outside of the image, though you may have to manually mask the film for your usage needs.

Q: 10. Will this work with an iMac running the latest system, 10.10.1 ?

A: Yes, but its imperative that you first upload the cd software that came with the unit. The downloaded version did not work when I tried to use the scanner with another iMac. Once I uploaded the software it worked like a charm.
