Stop stray light from entering your lens with the Sensei PRO 62mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood, a screw-on type hood that is designed for use with wide-angle lenses with 62mm front filter threads. This hood will work with lenses 24mm and longer on full frame cameras or 18mm and longer on APS-C sensors. Lens hoods are primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. Also, since the end of the lens is extended and the hood features a durable anodized aluminum construction, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact. Additionally, users can attach 82mm filters to the front opening and it has a non-glare matte finish on the inside to prevent reflections.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Hi is it compatible with the 16x9 169-HDWC8X-82 EXII 0.8x Wide-Angle Converte?

A: Unfortunately no because the front of the 16x9 lens does not have filter threads. So a hood cannot be attached.

Q: 2. Will a lens cap fit if this lens hood is on a Nikon Z 28mm 2.8 ?

A: The Sensei PRO 52mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood is compatible with the Nikon NIKKOR Z 28mm f/2.8 Lens.

Q: 3. Can I use a cap on this hood? If yes, what size?

A: The B&H description for this Sensei Pro 67 hood clearly states that: Front Opening Accepts 86mm Filters . So use a 86mm lens cap.

Q: 4. Will this work with the Panasonic 12mm 1.4?

A: Yes it will work on 12mm f1.4

Q: 5. Work on Tokina 11-16

A: Yes, the Sensei PRO 77mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood will work with the Tokina atx-i 11-16mm f/2.8 CF Lens.

Q: 6. I have the Fuji 23mm 1.4 lens and the Fuji clear filter. Will this hood vignette with that combination?

A: I have it on a 25 mm Batis. No vignette but also no filter.

Q: 7. Any idea if this would work with Mamiya 6 lenses? Would it vignette the 50mm wide angle lens?

A: Sensei PRO 58mm Wide Angle Aluminum Lens Hood will fit the Mamiya 6 50mm lens perfectly. The design allow wide angle lenses to blocked light glares without vignetting.

Q: 8. Can I use this hood to adapt to a clamp on matte box?

A: We would never recommend such a use. All we can envision is a expensive matte box with equally expensive filters disengaging from this and taking a one-way trip to concrete with shattering results.

Q: 9. Can I still use a 52 mm snap-on lens cap if this is installed on a NIKKOR 50mm f/1.4D?

A: This hood lacks a thread on the inside to accept a 52mm cap. It would have to be removed when not in use.

Q: 10. Will it work with a 16mm lens on APS-C camera or only starting with 18mm?

A: Yes, it will work on any lens with a 58mm filter thread and should cause vignetting with 16mm apsc lens.

Wrong Hood...my fault. Got the right hood next time. You had the hood for the Tamron 18-270-mm. Owner needs to know that he has a Piezo lens.....Thanks.

Carry a camera around for a week with a metal lens shade on. Then look at how many dings are on the shade... better there than on your lens. I put a metal lens shade on EVERY lens I buy. This one is perfect.

I wanted a hood that wouldn't shadow the corners of my photos so much as the tulip. Don't know why they don't make a rectangular hood since photos typically are rectangular in shape!! It worked very well and still kept down the glare from the sun and excess light.

I wanted a replacement hood for the large Fuji tulip hood that came with the 23mm f1.4 Fuji X lens and this metal hood with 62mm threads does the job well. This makes the camera and lens less conspicuous when street shooting.
