The JonyJib Pro 30 is a modular jib arm built to be lightweight and portable without sacrificing functionality. The design revolves around a series of 4' sections that provide 3' of extension each (since there is a 1' overlap when the modules are connected). This model comes with 9 sections, for a total height of 30' (9.14m). All the modules of the jib arm can be stored in a 48" tripod bag. Also included in this package are a camera platform, leveling cable, pivot bracket, Mitchell mounting hub, and a rear control and weight mounting center.

The JonyJib Pro mounts to a Mitchell mount style tripod via this 150mm Mitchell mounting hub. A 2.75" nut holds the hub in place on the Mitchell mount. The weight of the jib's pivot bracket attaches to an aluminum disc that glides on an oil impregnated bearing. This gives the JonyJib perfect drag for smooth arcing moves. The friction knob allows you to brake the jib or apply additional drag as needed.

This unit provides a horizontal bar to mount your controls upon. It also provides a horizontal primary weight bar for your counterweights. We recommend a combination of 25, 10, 5, and 2.5 lb cast iron plate weights with at least a 1" mounting hole. This assembly swivels, further absorbing unwanted vibration or movement from the operator.

Since each section slides out, pulled from the previous sections, you may store unused sections in the tail as ballast weight. This lightens your counterweight demand. Buy as few, or as many, sections as you need. Then purchase more sections when you need them.

Pivot point is pre-drilled to mount an optional Anton Bauer Gold Mount plate kit that can feed an optional 12V power distribution box at the tail. The distribution box can feed 12V power to the motorized pan & tilt head, zoom & focus controls, the monitor and the camera. The pivot point is also pre-drilled to mount the included LCD monitor mounting bracket or an optional monitor platform for 5-9" CRT monitors.

Camera platform is designed to over-sling or under-sling an optional motorized pan & tilt head without any changes. Just attach it either way and there's 360° pan & tilt clearance.

Main arm and extension sections are fabricated aluminum extrusions while the pivot point, camera platform and rear control center are steel. All are powder coated with a durable cobalt black finish.

Q: 6. Does the Peak Design Dual Plate and/or Standard Plate work with this 496 tripod head? I have read on the support website that some (but not all) RC2 heads are compatible. Thank you!

A: According to the "Using Peak Design Plates In 3rd Party Tripods" webpage on Peak Design's website, under the "Incompatible Tripod List" section, they state that they have received reports that their Capture plates do not quite work with the Manfrotto ARCA Style tripod heads. While they do have a webpage called "Manfrotto Tripod Compatibility with Peak Design Plates," they do not list the Manfrotto MH496-BHUS ball head as a compatible option on their webpage. If you wish, you may purchase the Dual Plate to test if it will work on your ball head. If it is not compatible, do note you may return the quick release plate for an exchange or a refund.
