Q: 1. does this lens come with usa warranty?

A: The Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens includes a 1 year Canon USA warranty against defects.

Q: 2. Can I use this lens on the Sony a6600 for fast action sports like football in Nigeria.

A: Yes this would be an absolutely perfect lens for shooting sports.

Q: 3. Is this lens suitable for indoor and outdoor sports?

A: The Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens doesn't have the fastest aperture, so it may struggle in low light situations, but since most sports are played in well lit spaces (outside and inside), the Canon EF 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6L IS II USM Lens should work well for capturing sports in either situation.

Q: 4. The Sony FE 100-400 lens is said to be compatible with the 1.4 and2.0 teleconverters.Does this also mean that they will autofocus with one or both of these teleconverters?

A: Hi Walter, yes. The 1.4 & 2.0 teleconverter supports AF. -Anthony

Q: 5. Just received the new version of this lens. Have enjoyed shooting with the original one for as long as I can remember. At what shutter speed does IS become unnecessary. I often shoot hummingbirds handheld at 1/2500 or 1/3200 and never thought to turn the IS off. Also, am I right to assume that Mode 3 would be best for trying to keep up with birds and other subjects that quickly move in various directions? Thanks!

A: Well that depends on how shaky your hands are and what you're shooting, doesn't it? :)A general rule of thumb is 1/focal length without IS. I'd definitely mount it on a tripod if you're doing birds in flight (and yes, mode 3 is ideal for that, as it's meant for panning in one direction, such as following the flight path of a bird when the camera's on a tripod). Don't use mode 3 if you expect your subject to change direction; i.e. hand-holding the lens for birds in flight, or birds such as pelicans which go into sudden dives. For general shooting (not moving subjects), I find I can get consistently acceptable results down to 1/40 or so. Between 1/40 and 1/25, I can usually manage a decent shot in a handful, and longer than 1/25, I have trouble (and usually resort to raising the ISO). Your results may vary.

Q: 6. I used this lens and a7R3 to photograph trumpet swans in RAW. The images of trumpet swans do not look sharp at 100% zoom or Actual Pixels View on the Sony Viewer software, do you experience the same effect? Thank you.

A: There could be several reasons the images aren't as sharp as you expected, some pertaining to the lens itself. I'd recommend reaching out to us over our new video-chat feature (bottom right of our B&H webpage) and we can discuss the issue! :)

Q: 7. Is it possible to attach a lens strap to this lens - perhaps on the lens foot?

A: There are third party accessories that will allow you to attached to the screw mount on the bottom of the foot.

Q: 8. Would you recommend this lens or the new version of Sony's 70-200mm lens for landscapes and wildlife photos for a very amateur photographer?

A: It comes down to distance. The Sony 100-400 mm f4-5.6 lens will give you more reach so it will really comes down to how far away you with be shooting from.

A: Yes, on the lens just below the serial# it is printed Made in Japan .
