Prime telephoto lens is designed for APS-C-format Fujifilm X-mount mirrorless cameras and provides a 137mm equivalent focal length.

Bright f/2 maximum aperture benefits working in difficult lighting conditions and also offers greater control over depth of field.

Three extra-low dispersion elements reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations in order to provide greater clarity and color accuracy.

Super EBC coating has been applied to individual elements to reduce lens flare and ghosting for improved contrast and color fidelity when working in strong lighting conditions.

A Quad Linear Motor autofocus system delivers smooth, near-silent performance that is especially beneficial to video applications and when working in noise-sensitive areas.

The lens body incorporates seven distinct weather seals to protect against dust and moisture, and to enable worry-free use in inclement conditions and freezing temperatures as low as 14°F.

Rounded seven-blade diaphragm contributes to a pleasing out-of-focus quality to benefit the use of selective focus and shallow depth of field techniques.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Where is this lens made in ?

A: FUJIFILM XF 90mm f/2 R LM WR Lens is made in Fujifilm Japan's manufacturers.

Q: 2. Ever really use a filter for portrait shooting with this lense?

A: No filters used. This lens is exceptionally sharp! If diffusion or softening is necessary, it is much easier and controlled during post processing.

Q: 3. How come people say the 90mm F/2 is not for use indoors because it doeen't have stabilization, and yet I have no problem using my 16-55mm f/2.8, which is heavier and doesn't have stabilization either, indoors? Why would the fact the 90mm f/2 lens doesn't have stabilization be a problem then?

A: Personally, I think its because they dont know what they are doing! I havent any problems with the lens. Its very versatile, sharp, and gives you the option of getting close or backing off! I like mine!

Q: 4. Recommend this lens or the 80 mm for youth sports? I was also considering the 55-200mm 3.5-4.8.

A: I'm leaning to agree with the former comments. I use the 90mm for its sharpness in landscape photography for compression and for close up subjects. Within sports use while the subjects are moving in and out, you would want the flexibility of zoom control, but as in so many cases in photography, if you had one lens and it were the 90mm f2 one could make it happen, but the loss percentage would probably go up.

Q: 5. Would the be a lens to use for say Capturing whitetail deer at dusk on a Tx2?

A: It would be ok but may be a bit lacking as far as distance, you would be much better off getting a fast tele lens like the 50-140mm, click on the link below; https://bhpho.to/3a1We2C

Q: 6. Is this lens any good for short films?

A: Great prime lens, very sharp and beautiful color, It would be a great lens for tighter shots.

Q: 7. Any date for aviability?

A: Unless it's out of stock, the lens has been available since May 2015.

Q: 8. Does this 90mm lens have image stabilization?

A: No, it does not. BUt I have no problems hand-holding with my X-T1 at 1/160 sec.

Q: 9. Is this brand new?

A: This is a brand new, unopened product. All products purchased at B&H are brand new in the original factory box including packaging, all factory included accessories and factory warranty, unless otherwise stated to be USED, Refurbished or Demo.

Q: 10. Has anyone used this lens with the LEE Filter System? Any vignetting or reflection issues?

A: Excellent lens for my Fuji XT-1 camera. Tack sharp. No issues with this lens.

It is very sharp, the focus is relative fast in X-T1 (I heard it is faster in newer bodys). It has no vibration reduction, so you must be careful with lower shutter speeds. I am loving it!

I am quite new to the Fuji XT-2 camera and its stunning lenses. I wanted a mid-range telephoto lens, but based on my experience with full-frame cameras, I didn't think I would use Fuji's 200mm equivalent, available by way of its 50-140mm f/2.8 lens, all that often. After reading many, many reviews I decided that the Fuji XF 90mm f/2 R LM WR lens would an excellent choice. It has reach, but when mounted to the XT-2, is still light enough to easily hand hold. That is a large consideration for me. Like so many of you, I have lugged full-frame cameras and heavy f/2.8 glass to the point that I found that photography just wasn't as much fun anymore. It was a big leap to go mirrorless. How could the images possibly rival those of my serious cameras? I was in for a surprise! I took my XT-2 with the 90mm lens to the North Carolina Zoo twice last week. I took portraits of giraffes, exotic birds, sea otters, zebras. The clarity of this lens is breathtaking. The detail in the fine feathers of a Barred Owl is incredible. The expression of an ostrich reminded me of a wizened old man. The eyes of a giraffe as I stood literally face-to-face with him are captured as luminescent dark pools. A grizzly bear stares back at me while she is being groomed. This lens inspires me to be more experimental with my image making. I feel such joy in seeing these beautiful creatures as I view them on screen, and recollecting the experience of being in their presence. This is what it is all about. When editing in Lightroom, I have found that I can crop an image to a very small percentage of the whole, and still have a crisp result. Those zebra stripes are very sharp indeed. This lens is fast to focus. I found that I was working in the range of f/2.8 to f/5.6. In a dark exhibit hall, I shot at ISO 8000 at f/2.8 and 1/125 sec to capture the owl standing on a branch, his feathers and eyes in perfect focus. The 90mm is a joy to use. I am very grateful. Thank you Fuji and B&H.

This lens is simply amazing. It is incredibly sharp, and produces this distinct magical effect as some of the other Fuji lenses, like 35mm 1.4. I also own 23mm 1.4 and even though I use it more (mainly because 23mm is much better suited for my day-to-day needs), I absolutely love my 90mm and I think it is one of the best lenses Fuji created so far. The only downside is that it's a pretty heavy and bulky lens. Take my review with a grain of salt, though -- I'm coming to the Fuji system from Canon, where one of my favorites was Canon 135L.

Before purchasing, compared same images shot with the 90mm f/2 and my 56mm 1.2. The 90mm brought out fine detail which was less clear from the 56mm. Sharpest of all my 6 Fujifilm lenses (Have not compared to my 16mm f 1.4)
Only wish Fufi would use metal for all their standard hoods.

I recently purchased the Fuji XT-2 along with three lenses which included the 23mm f2, 56 f1.2, and this lens, the 90mm f2. The quality and optics of all three lenses is absolutely incredible. The lens is well made and the images are beautiful. The lenses are pricey but worth the cost. One note, you will notice an internal "clunk sound" when you tip the lens front to back when not on the camera. I thought it was defective, but it is not. It part of the focusing system and normal. I checked with both B&H as a friends who have the same lens and it occurs with all of them.

I have wanted this lens for some time, but never seemed to be aware of when it was on sale. So I purchased this last month with the 200 dollar discount...and I could not be happier. Bokeh is creamy, focus points are tack sharp, and the focussing speed is lightning. (Crucial for candid shots with this focal length.) Highly recommended.
