The Tiffen 55mm Digital HT Neutral Density Filter Kit is a collection of three filters that contain the strength of a titanium coating combined with high-end optical Water White glass. They are designed for the outdoor shooter and represent a state of-the-art advancement in filter design. The low profile design is complemented by a titanium colored filter ring that matches many of today's modern digital cameras.

Using their patented ColorCore technology, these filters takes it to the next level by adding a very high scratch-resistant surface. There is no need to worry about cleaning this filter since the coating protects the surface, thereby maintaining the high-end optical quality of the glass.

The Titanium coating consistently reflects less than 1% of the imaging light hitting the front surface of the filter while transmitting nearly 99% (i.e. High-Transmission).

Neutral Density filters have several uses and offer the possibility to achieve otherwise unachievable results. ND filters appear gray and reduce the amount of light reaching the film. They have no effect on color balance. Neutral Density filters permit you to control your depth of field by permitting you to use wider apertures. They also allow you to create some stunning "burred" images such as rippling streams, moving traffic or birds in flight.

The graduated filter in this kit offers a different photographic possibility. Often it is necessary or desirable to balance the light intensity in one part of a scene with another. This is especially true in situations where you don't have total light control, as in bright contrasty landscapes. Exposing for the foreground will produce a washed-out, over-exposed sky while exposing for the sky will leave the foreground dark and under-exposed. These filters enables cloud detail to be kept correctly exposed in the picture.

Determining which graduated neutral density filter yields ideal results for any given lighting situation takes knowledge, experience and a collection of such filters. Choose the filter strength which adjusts the lighting to stay within the exposure latitude (greatest difference between bright/dark values) which still shows details in both of the digital or film medium in use.

Speaking generally, for graduated ND filters, the 2-stop value (ND 0.6 - the filter's clear portion allows 4x more light to pass vs. the darkest portion) effectively compensates average bright sky-to-foreground situations, and the soft transition is applicable more often to a scene than the hard transition.

Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Does the A7II have full pixel readout video like the A7SI & II? If not how would the pixel binning compare to the cams with full pixel readout?

A: Unfortunately it does not have the full pixel readout or 4K HDMI output of the A7S. The pixel binning method employed on the sensor seems similar to before, which results in occasional aliasing and some moire too.

Q: 2. can this camera be tethered to a computer?

A: it is possible to connect the camera to the computer for downloading photos

Q: 3. When do you expect the product to become available at your store?

A: This item is still available only as a pre-order and has not come into our inventory yet. You can choose to be notified by email when this item becomes available by clicking on the Notify When in Stock icon on the product page.

Q: 4. Is there a preference for Aps vs Full Frame if I intend to project the image ?

A: I really can't think of one. If your goal is to control/optimize an image's rendering on screen (fill the projected footprint evenly...etc.), the general practice is to size the image to the resolution of the projector (VGA 640x480; SVGA 800x600; XGA 1024x768; etc.) --- I can't think of a modern sensor in either of those formats that wouldn't provide you with enough supported resolution. I have projected everything from smartphone to 36 MP full frame images (including specifically the A7II) on my high end multimedia projector with no issues.

Q: 5. I know the Sony A7 ii only records video in NTSC mode (29 fps), so my question is Does it allow to put the shutter in 1/50 and 1/100 to compensate the PAL countries like mine, were the electricity goes on 50Hz.?I also know that the A7R do the job in 25 fps, but it costs too much more than the A7 iiThank you

A: Shutter speed is unrelated to frame rate. This camera cannot record for PAL.

Q: 6. How good or bad is the Sony A7 ii mic-preamp for video shooting? Por example, in Canon DSLR the mic input is almost unusuable because of the high signal noise ratio.Thank you

A: I don't use video very often but have found it at acceptable - I am no expert on video Brian

Q: 7. difference between nx300 & nx300m?

A: The main differences are the flip/touch screen and the wifi connectivity. The camera takes good stills but the video function doesn't perform well. I actually sent the 300M back and now have a Panasonic GX7. For what it retails for now it is one of the best mirrorless cameras available in my opinion. It is a micro 4/3 camera and not a cmos sensor but the image quality is super and the sensor difference is insignificant for general, everyday usage.

Q: 8. Hola! Quisiera comprar desde Argentina. Podra tener algn inconveniente o llegara a mi casa sin problemas?

A: Comunquese con B & H directamente para cualquier pregunta de compra.

Q: 9. with metabones adapter, electronic aperture is not supported .what must I do ? I am new at this

A: Also a beginner for mirrorless, have not explored that part, though i have canon lenses ax well. Sorry!

Q: 10. How does the A7II compare with the Nikon D7200? I take mostly landscapes and nature shots but I don't do a lot of video recording.

A: The A7II is a Full Frame Camera, compared to APS-C on the D7200. For landscapes the larger sensor will allow for wider shots.
