A: Definitely focus by wire. No mechanical linkage. If you move the focus ring quickly it changes focus faster than if you move it slowly. So, the focus pull varies by how fast you turn the ring. Annoying - but it is a beautiful lens.

A: The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM Art Lens for Nikon would fit onto the Nikon D610; however, the lens is designed for use on DX cameras with APS-C sensors, and the Nikon D610 is a full-frame camera. As such, you would either have to use the lens in the Auto-DX Crop Mode, which would reduce the maximum resolution of the image down to 10 megapixels, or you can cancel the Auto-DX Crop Mode and it would have a black vignette around the edge of the image where the back of the smaller lens blocks the larger full-frame sensor.
