The DVI-to-VGA Converter from Gefen is a small box solution that converts DVI signals onto VGA monitors. This enables digital sources to be connected to analog displays. With resolutions supported up to 1920 x 1200, the DVI-to-VGA Converter detects the connected monitor and determines which extended display identification data (EDID) to use. If the connected display does not have its own EDID, the DVI-to-VGA Converter has its own internal EDID it can use to produce the best possible video output.

Extended display identification data (EDID) is a data structure provided by a digital display to describe its capabilities to a video source. It is what enables a modern personal computer to know what types of monitors are connected to it. The DVI-to-VGA Converter will automatically use the EDID of the connected display. If the connected monitor does not have EDID, then the DVI-to-VGA Converter will use its internal EDID to output the most compatible video signal

The DVI-to-VGA Converter supports a DVI-D signal using a DVI-I connector and converts it into a VGA Analog (PC/RGB) signal

The DVI-to-VGA Converter supports resolutions from 800x600 (min) to 1920x1200 (max)

Q: 1. Can i connect both cameras to a video switcher and use only the program out to connect to the BDM Camera converter?? As we want only the program out to be send to another broadcast room.

A: The Camera Converter is a single camera device used to connect via fiber to the ATEM Studio/Talkback Converter and the ATEM. It is also designed to bring Program video back to the Camera Converter for local monitoring, tally and talkback.

Q: 2. How does this connect to BMD Studio cameras and talkback converter? Can the in/out SDI of camera be connected to this then Fiber in/out of this to talkback converter?

A: Also if you are using the BMD studio cameras you can use either the blackmagic camera convertor that uses fiber or use the blackmagic camera convertor 4K that uses SDI. The BMD studio cameras has the camera convertor built in so you do not need to add this extra piece to the system. You need just the receiving end in either the fiber version or sdi version and both versions will carry signal, talkback, and tally.

A: The Camera Converter only connects to the Talkback Converter using dual fiber for full functionality.
