Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would this lens work well with a canon T4i ?

A: Yes it does work with Canon T4i

Q: 2. Is this compatible with an EOS M6 MarkII with mount adapter EF-EOSM?

A: Yes, it will work with the adapter.

Q: 3. More than one reviewer stated that he/she had to shake the lens excessively to activate the OSS. Is that a problem everyone else has experienced or is it isolated (which would lead to questions of quality control)? That would seem to be a deal stopper for me.

A: I used the 100-400 lens with 1.4x telextender, mounted on a video rack, dlc v1 dslr rig, at Iguazu Falls in Argentina for three days of birding. It performed flawlessly. Autofocus may fail if the background is uniformly bright, e.g. sky, and the focal point is set for a spot rather than a more broad focus. My Canon 7d mark ii works the same way. The Sony did its job well and the OSS gave me great, crisp images. It has regularly outperformed my Canon 100-400.

Q: 4. If I used this lenses with the 1.3x teleconverter, would the light loss be less than the 2.0x teleconverter?

A: Yes you lose one more f-stop. The 2.0 got worse reviews on tracking I believe. I love the 1.4. Using it next week for bears in Alaska.

Q: 5. Does the specified weight (1395g) include the tripod foot?

A: No, that weight is without the foot. Its 52oz with the foot.

Q: 6. How is the 200mm sharpness on this lens compared to the 50-200 II (not f2.8), but the shorter version of this (100-300) lens?

A: I just recently rented both lenses and I find find them both to be very sharp. I used them both on my GX8 and they rented GX9. I love the size of the 100-300 and the auto focus and success rate of keepers seems equal to the 50-200. The 50-200mm may be the sharpest lens I've ever used. I am still deciding between the compact size and value of the 100 – 300; the sharpness of the 50 – 200mm and the reach of the 100-400.

Q: 7. Hi. With a Panasonic DMC-G85 camera does the Dual I.S. (Image Stabilization) work with the Panasonic Lumix G Vario 100-300mm f/4-5.6 II POWER O.I.S. Lens ? Thanks for any help.

A: Yes, its fully functional regarding dual I.S.

Q: 8. the lens doesn't go on as tight as my 50 Summ-SL I applied some torque while mounted and can feel it move slightly is it normal?

A: Yes, it is normal for the Leica Vario-Elmar-SL 100-400mm f/5-6.3 Lens (L-Mount) to have some wiggle in the mount. There is a tolerance in how much a lens can wiggle. Some copy of lenses will not be as tight as others, but it will still work perfectly.

Q: 9. Is this lens compatible with DCM G1?

A: Yes Panasonic Lumix G Vario 100-300mm f/4-5.6 II POWER O.I.S. Lens is compatible with Panasonic Lumix DMC-G1

Q: 10. Made in from China or Japan

A: Our records indicate that the Sony FE 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 GM OSS Lens is made in Japan. Please note that this is subject to change at any time.
