Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. will this tele- extender allow me to retain autofocus with canon 5D mark IV and canon EF 800mm f/5.6L IS USM lens ?

A: Yes it would, but the points will only be around the center.

Q: 2. I have a Canon 5D III with a Canon EF 100 - 400 4.5 - 5.6 L IS. Will the 2X work with this? Thank you.

A: Yes this extender will work with the Canon EF 100-400mm and the 5D Mark III. However, you would only get autofocus within brighter conditions.

Q: 3. Will this extender work on a canon 100-400mm Mark1 or only the newest version of the lense?

A: Ok, after a little work, pulling out my 100-400 version I and removing my version II from my 5DIII. It appears that I and II both work with the 1.4 III extender, it may be a little bit slower, but both lenses work. I will also say that I was quite surprised at how well the extender works and would definitely recommend it.

Q: 4. compatible with 400mm 5.6 lens?

A: Yes this is compatible with the Canon 400 F/5.6.

Q: 5. Will the 1DX Mkll have full AF compatibility with these Mk lll teleconverters and the canon 100-400 4.5/5.6L IS II lens?

A: I found that the 1.4 III extender would not operate auto focus on my 100-400 II because of my 9 yr old 5d1 camera. Now forward to my new 5d iv. I have the canon 500mm ii that I almost exclusively mount my 1.4 III extender on. For this O.C.D., I/Q is everything. The I/Q is very acceptable. Although I hate loosing the f/4 to f/5.6. It makes a big difference in clouded conditions. Now putting the 1.4 iii extender on my 100-400 ii lens is very practical, as the 500mm lens is difficult to lug around all the time. Yes, the photo's are a little soft to the O.C.D. community, but still very acceptable and professional looking, especially since I now have a 30 megapixel 5d iv. My biggest enemy is camera shake due to poor technical procedure from this rookie operator. I love the 1.4 iii extender. With B&H's return policy you can always send it back if you are not satisfied. I doubt you will.

Q: 6. Hello,Will this extender work with the 6D and 24-105mm? If not is it only because of the AF or other reasons? If it's not compatible at all, then is there another extender I can use with is equipment? Thanks!

A: No, this extender is not compatible with the 24-105mm lens. The 24-105mm lens is not compatible with any teleconverters due to the construction/design of the lens. Zoom lenses whose widest focal is less than 70mm are not compatible with any teleconverters.

Q: 7. Was a t-mount adapter supposed to be included with this lens?

A: The Tokina SZX 400mm f/8 Reflex MF Lens with 2x Extender Kit for Nikon Z comes with the Tokina 2X Extender TA-020 for T-mount, a universal optical tele-converter. The 2X Extender TA-020 adopts T-mount standard and comes between the lens and mount adapter.

Q: 8. Canon extender working on tamron 70-200 2.8 g2 lens and canon 90d

A: We tested the combination of Canon EOS 90D + Canon EF Extender 2x III + Tamron 70-200mm f/2.8 G2 at the superstore and can confirm that the combination works. We were unable to test/compare with Tamron's own teleconverter due to availability at this time for autofocus speed, but the tested combination yielded decent results.

Q: 9. Hello there,Does it work with 5D MarkII and:EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM EF 24-70mm f/2.8L II USM EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM EF 50mm f/1.2L USM

A: No it does not. This converter is only compatible with fixed focal length L-series lenses 135mm and over, as well as the EF 70-200/2.8L, EF 70-200/2.8L IS, EF 70-200/4L, and EF 100-400/4.5-5.6L. Zoom lenses whose widest focals are less than 70mm are not compatible with any teleconverters due to their construction.

Q: 10. Will this work with Canon 100-400 II and a 5D Mark III?
