This lens has a manual focus feature where you pull the focus ring back to engage manual, and push it forward to re-engage the autofocus. It's a nice feature for those who prefer manual focus or wish to critically focus their scene, but if you wish to keep it in autofocus mode at all times, that's okay. I rarely use this feature myself.
