Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. can I attach this lens to an extension bellow to increase its magnification at closer focusing distances?

A: If the bellows cuts the communication between camera and lens that may creates issues since the camera is creating via software the 3D VR functionality and needs to know the lens is connected.

Q: 2. What is the interaxial spacing of the lens?

A: If you mean the Interpupillary Distance or Baseline Length, that is shown as being 60mm.

Q: 3. Plugin for DaVinci Resolve ?

A: As of today, January 11, 2022 the Canon EOS VR software is still in development. Canon has said they will be releasing the software in the next few months. They also say there will be a plug in for Adobe Premiere but do not say anything regarding plugin for DaVinci Resolve at this time.

Q: 4. Could this possibly work on a Red Komodo with an EOS-RF adapter?

A: The Komodo uses a RF Mount so you can use this lens without an adapter. The EF adapter wouldn't do much here.

Q: 5. Only compatible with R5?

A: The Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye 3D VR Lens is compatible only with All Cine Cameras, Canon EOS R5 C, Canon EOS R6 Mark II and the Canon EOS R5.

Q: 6. Will this be able to record 4K 120P from the Fx6 like the Ninja V+? And will it require an SDI adapter like the Ninja V+?

A: The new Atomos Ninja Ultra 5.2" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor, renders all of the same capabilities of its predecessor, with only new additions.

Q: 7. does it work with sony fx30?

A: Yes, the Atomos Ninja Ultra 5.2" 4K HDMI Recording Monitor is compatible with the Sony FX30 Digital Cinema Camera and can record ProRes RAW up to 4.2K Uncropped (1.77:1) 4264 x 2408 at 59.94 fps.

Q: 8. Is there a ND filter option?

A: Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8 L Dual Fisheye 3D VR Lens has a gelatin filter holder on the back of the lens. This is an example of an ND filter you can use in that holder. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/503450-REG/Kodak_8383572_3_x_3_75mm.html?sts=pi&pim=Y

Q: 9. When adjusting the focus distance, does this change the angle of the lens's so that the convergence is correct? i.e., when looking at objects that are closer, your eyes will be more crossed then when you are looking at images that are much more distant. The alternative is to have lens angles fixed so that there is an optimal distance to subject. If the latter is the case, they should publish that distance.

A: The focusing elements in the Canon RF 5.2mm f/2.8L Dual Fisheye 3D VR Lens (B&H# CA5228L) do not change the angle of each element's view to adjust for convergence. They simply allow for the sensor to attain critical focus on the focal plane of the subject.

Q: 10. Will this come in black, or just desert camo?

A: At this moment this is the only color choice for the Atomos Ninja Ultra.
