Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this work with the new PYXIS 6K?

A: Yes, the Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand is compatible with the Blackmagic Design PYXIS 6K Cinema Box Camera (Canon EF).

Q: 2. assuming the electronic functions work well with the metabones adapter ... will the BLACKMAGIC ZOOM AND FOCUS DEMANDS CONTROL THE CANON 18-80 CN-E LENS (instead of using the SS-41-IASD)? thanks!

A: No. The unit is designed to be drive zoom control of MFT lenses with power zoom for Blackmagic Studio Cameras.

Q: 3. Will the Fujinon MCA-7 Mounting Clamp work with this?

A: No. The following system offers its own mounting system.

Q: 4. Will this device work with "Sony SELP18105G - E PZ 18-105mm f/4 G OSS Power Zoom Lens " ?

A: This is designed for the Blackmagic Television Studio cameras. This handle will only work with MFT lens that have the power zoom function.

Q: 5. I'm thinking about to extend the Zoom/focus demand functionality for the Ursa Broadcast G2 camera on remote location. Is it possible using USB extender via CAT5/6 or similar? Which USB standard it uses, USB 2 or USB 3?

A: You may be able to extend the range of the Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand with a USB cable extender but we would still only recommend sending the signal a maximum of 31 feet, and suggest using a signal boosting cable like the Tether Tools TetherBoost Pro USB Type-C Core Controller Extension Cable (16', High-Visibility Orange)(BH #TETBPRO3ORG). Q: 6. Is it possible to use the BMD Zoom Demand with 3rd party zoom motors which have USB as an input? E.g. the DJI RS Focus Motor, Tilta Nucleus Nano (with an Macro-USB adapter), or SmallRig Receiver Motor 3263?

A: The Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand at this time only works connected to Black Magic cameras using compatible lenses. It would not work with any of the 3rd party gear listed.

Q: 7. Can this be used to control zoom on the Lumix G X Vario PZ 45-175mm on the BMPCC4K?

A: At this time the Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand is only supported on Black Magic's Studio 4k cameras.

Q: 8. With an URSA Broadcast G2 and LA16x8BRM lens, if I have the camera connected to my ATEM return (for color/iris CCU), will the ATEM CCU override the zoom control that the Zoom Demand sends the camera? Or, can I use this Zoom Demand and still have ATEM control over the camera color, iris, focus, etc?

A: You can use the zoom Demand at the same time as the ATEM control. There are zoom controls in the ATEM software but it will not interact with the local zoom or focus if that software control is not touched.

Q: 9. I have the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm and the speed knob doesn't work. There's only one speed. Any fixes for this?

A: No, I'm sorry, the Panasonic Lumix G X Vario PZ 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 ASPH. POWER O.I.S. Lens (B&H# PA144235XS) is a basic consumer PZ zoom and doesn't offer variable zoom speed as an option.

Q: 10. does it come with a usb-c cable?

A: The Blackmagic Design Zoom Demand does included a USB-C cable.
