This 105mm Coarse Tiffen ND Filter is a solid ND filter with a filter factor of 2x that provides a 1-stop exposure reduction. Its 0.3 density creates a darkening of the entire image, allowing you to photograph with a wider aperture or slower shutter speed than normally required. By slowing your exposure time or increasing your aperture, you are able to control depth of field and convey movement more easily. Neutral density filters do not affect the coloration of the image and are ideal for pairing with other filters.

This filter is made using ColorCore technology, a process that involves laminating the filter substrate between 2 pieces of optical glass, grinding flat to a tolerance of 1/10,000th of an inch, and then mounting to precision metal rings.

Q: 3. is this lens good on eos 70d to make video?

A: The Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens will be compatible with the Canon 70D and will work well for video.

Q: 4. I have 2 versions of this lens and the newest version when extended to 105mm seems loose. You can physically move the barrel up and down (slightly). Does not seem right and lens is only a few years old. Seems like weather sealing etc. is compromised. Anyone else experience this?

A: All camera gear no matter how excellent or expensive can be a candidate for servicing. We suggest finding a qualified lens technician for a lens tune up.

Q: 5. Is the Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM Lens, compatible with the Canon 5D Mark II?

A: Yes, as well as most other Canon EOS cameras.

Q: 6. will this work on a Rebel Ts3?

A: Yes. The mount on the Ts3 is an EF mount.. So it fits any EF lenses

Q: 7. How does this lens compare to the Nikon AF DC-Nikkor 105 mm F/2D Lens?

A: At the same apertures, it performs just very slightly better than the DC, but almost the same. If images are produced by skilled shooters, you'd be hard-pressed to tell the difference in a blind test at the same apertures. Of course the new lens goes to f/1.4 where the depth of field effect is dramatic, which is the main selling point. The new lens has slightly more distortion but less flare and CA owing to better coatings. The new lens does not have a DC control ring to manipulate bokeh. The new lens does not have an aperture ring, unlike the DC-Nikkor, so it is practically worthless for classic Nikon SLRs. The new lens is light and plasticky feeling, unlike the older solid metal and glass crinkle-coated DC-Nikkor. The new lens has a AF-S in-lens motor, which will burn out after some years and will render it a manual focus lens when Nikon decides to stop making replacement motors, as they have already done for other top-of-the-line AF-S lenses...whereas the 105/2DC with screwdriver AF will still be working just fine a hundred years from now.

Q: 8. this lens made from japan ?

A: Yes. This lens is made in Japan

Q: 9. Is it normal for this lens to be very noisy? Or is that signs of a potential problem.

A: I've had mine for about a year, use it all the time for video and it is makes no noise at all.

Q: 10. does this lens have a lock? I think I may have an older version of this lens, but it drives me crazy, because it creeps

A: No, it does not. The Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS USM lens pictured above is the original version released in 2005. It does not have a lens lock. The Canon EF 24-105mm f/4L IS II USM Lens, B&H # CA241054LIS2, is the new version of this lens, originally released in 2016. It does have a lens lock on the right-hand side of the lens.
