Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. As a photog, can I use the 400 PRO to transfer my computer screen to an other monitor via HDMI, Ipad and Iphone simultaneously?

A: Yes you can. When connected to your computer the computer will treat the Hollyland like a computer monitor. This will allow you to wirelessly send the monitor feed to a monitor that is not near your computer and mirror that display on up to 2 devices at the same time.

Q: 2. I imagine the RF frequencies used with the 400S Pro are the same used for all Hollyland units (thanks FCC!), would I be able to use a Cosmo 1000+ receiver with a 400S Pro transmitter?

A: Hi David, sorry to tell you that the Hollyland Mars series and Cosmo series used different RF frequencies, so it's not be able to use a Cosmo 1000+ receiver with a 400S Pro transmitter.

Q: 3. Is there any time delay of video signals if so how much please let me know.

A: According to Hollyland, there is a delay of 0.08s.

Q: 4. Hi. Will this devide allow to capture Blackmagic Pocket's footage at higher framerates? As for now Pocket offers only 25p/30p. Regards, Drake

A: Unfortunately the Video Assist HDMI/6G-SDI Recorder and 5 Monitor can only record what the camera is able to output. The Video Assist HDMI/6G-SDI Recorder and 5 Monitor will not be able to capture an increase in frame rate if the camera is not capable of producing that frame rate to begin with.

Q: 5. What factors in the working environment affect the latency? Are there any devices that have latency below 80ms?

A: Hi Gabe, 5G WIFI will affect the latency. and since the transmission range is light of sight, so the obstacle like the concrete wall/glass between the TX and RX will affect the latency as well.

Q: 6. Can anyway say if there is still the 64 minute issue?

A: There is still a file size cap on these units. The cap varies with the recording format and selected codec. The file will close and immediately start a new file to continue the recording without dropping a single frame.

Q: 7. Is this a battery life indicator on the transmitter unit? Hard to know when the battery is about to die otherwise.

A: Yes, the Hollyland Mars 400S PRO SDI/HDMI Wireless Video Transmission System does display a battery voltage indicator on the transmitter unit to monitor battery level of the battery attached to the transmitter.

Q: 8. While recording it seems to capture about 1 hour and 5 minutes at a time and starts a new clip. Is there a solution for this? I would just like to record everything instead of editing clips together.

A: This is a limitation with the QuickTime wrapper not ProRes. DNx MXF files wouldnt have a file break in the recording. The QuickTime files has a pre allocated header size where each frame's information is stored..as the QuickTime file is written out this header file is continually updated. When the header file is filled up a new QuickTime file is created.

Q: 9. The manual shows sending from camera to a monitor. What about sending from camera to a switcher?

A: You can use the same instructions to send the video to a switcher.

Q: 10. CanI use three receivers with one transmitter all on the same channel?

A: Hi Frank, you can use maximum one transmitter with 2 receivers on the same channel. Or 1 transmitter with 0 Receivers + 4 APP, or 1 transmitter with 1 receiver + 2 APP for wireless monitoring.
