Q: 1. What other accessory do I need besides...I got a canon 100 to 400mm lenses with 1.6 X and will get the 600mm down on the road. Thax

A: When I ordered the WH-200, I also ordered two quick release plates (used to attach the camera lens collar to the tripod head). Plates: P50, item#WIQRPP50. Two plates so I have one for the 100-400mm lens, and one for a 300mm F2.8 lens. Of course, you need a tripod to attach the WH-200 to.

Q: 2. Is the Wimberley WH-200 II smoother panning than the Benro GH2?

A: The Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base does have smoother panning than the Benro GH2 Aluminum Gimbal Head.

Q: 3. I have a Canon 70-200 and a Canon 100-400 which bases do i need

A: Wimberley suggests using their P-20 lens plate (B&H # WIQRPP20) for both the Canon 100-400mm and 70-200mm f/2.8 lenses.

Q: 4. Hi,i have a nikon500mmf4 VR2 and 200-400 VR2 F4 which QR plate I should use? I am also considering to buy the new nikon 400mm 2.8 . please suggest.

A: Wimberley recommends using the AP-554 Replacement foot (B&H # WIFN) for the Nikon 500mm f/4 (I, II, & VR) and 200-400mm f/4. As for the New 400mm f/2.8, the AP-452 (B&H # WIFN400)would be required.

Q: 5. Can this head be used with knobs on the left side? In all the photos, I see the camera mounted where the tensioning knobs are on the right side? Also, any comparisons with this and the much less expensive knock-off versions?

A: The Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base can be spun freely in either direction. You could mount the lens with the knobs on the right or on the left. Either orientation will be fully functional. The Wimberley WH-200 is really the gold standard that is tried and proven to work consistently. The Wimberley is extremely well made with a longer positive track record than anything else on the market.

Q: 6. hi everyone.i am having nikon d810 with 200-500mm lens and recently i purchased gitzo tripod 5542ls .Now i am looking for the gimbal head probably wimberely 200 and sigma 150-600mm.Please suggest me should i go for it and which quick releases plate i should buy ?

A: I'm using the same set up with a Nikon 800e. I'm very satisfied with everything, works great.

Q: 7. Hello.I have a Manfrotto 055XDB tripod. I wonder if I have to get a newer one or this will work with the WH-20? Thank you in anticipation.

A: I Have no information on the Manfrotto 055XDB, but most tripods came with a reversible connecting screw at the top.The Wimberley WH20 should be attached to the tripod base through a 3/8 screw. If your tripod does have a reversible (1/4 versus 3/8 screw) you should just select the appropriate side as the WH 20 needs a 3/8 screw to installedIf not, is just a matter to buy and install a reducer bushing

Q: 8. I'm using Mefoto C 1350 Road trip Tripod with Canon 100-400mm and Extender EF 1.4X. Is my Tripod Sturdy enough with Wimberly WH-200 Gimbal Head?

A: Absolutely yes !! I am using a Nikon D5 with 600 F4 plus an extender too. No issues at all.

Q: 9. I do you prevent the Wimberley from unscrewing while walking or moving in general?

A: If attached properly, it should stay in place.

Q: 10. Is 3 legged - Albert adequate for Wimberley WH-200? thanks in advance

A: Unclear question: Which product are you thinking about buying -- the Albert or the Wimberley?
