Q: 1. I have the canon 100-400 is ii lens. The recommendation is the p-10 plate. If i use the 1.4 extender do i still use the p-10 plate or the p-20?

A: Skip that plate altogether, get rid of the factory tripod foot & replace it with a Kirk LP-61. It's a much more stable set up, slides right in to the WH-200. A great gimbal head like the Whimberly is only as good as the lens attachment point. Get the Kirk, skip the p-10 plate unless you haver other lenses that you intend to shoot from your tripod. The foot is long enough to find the correct balance point (which changes as you soon in & out) no problem, will work if you go with the 2X extender also (but your autofocus won't).

Q: 2. Which plate would I buy with a Manfretto tripod & sigma 150-600 lens?

A: P50 if you are using the sport.

Q: 3. What type of video quality do you get from using this head, if shooting wildlife? Can you pan smoothly by increasing the tension, or does the video turn out to be jittery?

A: No jerk or shudder problems. This unit is solid as granite when screwed down, smooth as greased glass when adjusted to a light grip. You can shoot moving video, or track fast birds in flight while shooting multiple stills. Get the balance set and a medium tension, and it will move easily to any position - and stay there when you let go. It is a joy to use.

Q: 4. If I am using a Nikon D7200 and a Sigma 150-600mm, will I need to purchase anything special in order to use this??? Thank you

A: The Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base does not include a Quick Release Plate. For the Sigma 150-600mm lens get the Oben QR-53 Long Lens Quick Release Plate (5.3"). Here is the link: https://bhpho.to/2UIa8ih

Q: 5. Is the wh 200 compatible with gitzo 2545 or 2542?

A: I have a Gitzo tripod but not the models you mention. However, I am sure that the WH-200 is compatible with the Gitzo 2542. Here are the three things I considered to provide this answer.First, the tripod is sturdy enough to support the WH-200 and a large telephoto lens.Second, the diameter of the WH-200 will easily rest on the top plate on the Gitzo tripod. There will be no clearance problems.Third, the Gitzo has a threaded center post that can be rotated to accommodate either a 1/4 or 3/8 inch thread by simply removing the top plate and rotating the center post 180 degrees. My Gitzo tripod has a similar top plate and threaded center post and I can confidently state that the combo will accommodate just about any head I have ever encountered. My Gitzo/WH-200 combo is one of the most stable platforms I have ever used and I would recommend it to anyone. Again, it is not the model you specified, but that model Gitzo is clearly very stable and well constructed just as mine.

Q: 6. What does it mean when it says that the gimbal has a quick release base?

A: If you are talking about where the camera attaches to the Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base, it works just like your quick release on your tripod.

Q: 7. I have a bogen 3033 tripod with a 3047 head on it will the Wimberly tripod head fit on this tripod and which quick release plate do I need? thanks

A: The Wimberly tripod head fits on a standard tripod legs which I think your bogey 3033 is. I have a quick release plate that is a bit longer than the base of the tripod collar on my Pentax 560 lens. This tripod head is amazing to use to photograph wildlife with a long lens, easy to position and move to get the shot you want wile keeping the lens steady.

Q: 8. What is the material this head is made from??? Most of the competitors show that info, but is unavailable on this page in B and H. Thank you.

A: The upright is constructed of durable metal with the exception of the rubber knobs. The arm appears to be constructed of a lighter-weight metal and the knobs are plastic. Given the weight, the metal is not aluminum. The product is top notch and worth the money if you can afford it.

Q: 9. I am planning to mount a Swarovski 95mm spotting scope with a btx bino eye piece on it. Would this fit? Thank you.

A: Yes, a Swarovsk 95mm scope with the BTX Eyepiece Module will fit on the Wimberley WH-200 Gimbal Tripod Head II with Quick Release Base.

Q: 10. Will Really Right Stuff Lens Foot Plates work on the WH-200 Gimbal tripod head? i have a Nikon 200-400 and a 70-200 that already have RRS feet on themThanks Bill

A: Yes, both systems use the Arca-type plates so you would be able to use the RRS Plates with this Wimberly Gimbal together.
