I have been able to connect my usb external hard drive with great transfer rates. The adapter has a small cord which provides some flexibility compared to an adapter that has no cord and is more for a direct plug in. It’s still small enough to add to a laptop travel bag without adding much space. I definitely recommend if you’re looking for an easy way to connect your older devices to a new laptop. 5

Great connector. I use it to connect a USB 3.0 Hub (male terminal), into the female receptor of this device. I have a mouse and a printer hooked up to the hub and the transfer speed of data works just fine. Solid and sturdy built. Good product. 5

I have a zipper bag full of adaptors in my road kit. You can never have too many adaptors- they are the problem solvers and life savers when you are on location and cannot run to the shop or store. We kept running into issues with USB-C, and I purchased these and gave them to all our techs to put in their kits. 5
