Q: 1. will this lens work on a sony a6400?

A: Yes it will. This lens will work with the Sony A6400.

Q: 2. Can I use this lens with Canon C500 PL? Any recommend adapter?

A: Unfortunately no, you cannot. The C500 PL is designed to take lenses that are designed to work on cameras with reflex mirrors. Thus the lens is further away from the sensor whether there is a mirror present or not. On the other hand, Sony E mount lenses and cameras have no mirrors thus they can take advantage of that fact and mount the lens close to the sensor saving weight, design compromises and cost. (You can use, with an adapter, PL lenses on Sony E mount cameras.) Now if by some manner you were to attach a Sony E Mount lens to the C500 PL, the image could only be focused somewhere in front of the sensor. This of course means the image would be out of focus as far as the sensor and you are concerned.

Q: 3. Will this lens work with the a7r III?

A: Its an apsc cropped sensor lens, so does not cover full frame of A7RIII. Can be used in crop sensor mode... but better options available

A: These lens is specifically designed by Sony so that the FS5 and FS7 can both use it as a workhorse. There have been no reports of any damage using the E PZ 18-110mm f/4 G OSS Lens on any camera.

A: There is a groove that fits the end of the lens. Will not work with other lenses.

Q: 7. Will the FS7 mk I lens mount be strong enough for this lens or does it need a rail system to support the lens?

A: We do recommend using a rail when attaching this lens.

Q: 8. Can I use the hlens hood on my SELP28135G?

A: We believe the hood will fit for emergency or temporary purposes. However, we do not recommend buying it for that purpose. That is because that hood is too wide for the 28-135mm. You would be giving up one of the reasons for using the hood.

Will the lens when in manual focus mode focus like a mechanical focus system where when you rock the focus ring back and forth to find focus, once found it will always be at the same position on the ring, or is it fly by wire which is difficult when trying to focus very quickly, eg. run & gun shooting?

A: The lens has yet to be released so the final answers regarding all focus features is not yet known. However, according to a Sony rep, the lens is focus by wire, so the lens does not have traditional focus markings and hard stops. The lens however is parfocal and will maintain focus while you zoom in/out while in AF or MR. In addition, Sony has addressed many cine issues such as breathing, parfocal focus, and axial shift all in a constant aperture lens with excellent zoom range for its intended camera for an excellent price. We shall see soon how this lens does.
