The Auray LMS-335 Studio Monitor Stands are durably constructed and designed to support studio monitors at the optimal listening position in professional and home recording studios.

Each stand is constructed from steel tubing and a 9" steel plate. An ergonomic locking knob secures the stand, and a locking pin is inserted into six predrilled holes to allow the height of each monitor to be adjusted between 35 and 58.5".

The three-leg design has a base spread of 23" for stability and a geometry that allows the stand to fit in corners and beside studio furniture. They come with interchangeable rubber feet for hardwood floors as well as metal spike feet for carpeted floors. The necessary tools and hardware for assembling the stands and changing the feet from rubber pads to metal spikes and vice versa are included. Two touch-fastener straps are included on the central supports for neatly securing cables to the stand.

Q: 1. I'm interested in using this recorder with my Sony A7S2 - does anyone know if it will take the camera's 420 signal (over HDMI) and upgrade it to 422? Or is that not possible given that the camera itself can't record at 420?Additionally, I understand there's a bug in the A7S2 and this recorder where if you set the camera to record at 4K but output at 1080p, it will set it to output at 60FPS instead of 24FPS (if set to 24FPS) - in other words, it forces the high FPS on the output signal. Does anyone know if this issue has been resolved? Thanks!

A: I cannot speak for the Sony camera, however it's specification indicates 422 available on the HDMI output, so that should work with the Video Assist. I am unable to answer the second half of the question.

Q: 2. Hi, Can this record 1080 60pfs (or120pfs) from Canon XC10 camera in Prores?

A: The Canon XC10 can output 60fps through its HDMI connection in HD mode. It should work with the Video Assist and allow you to record Pro Res up to 60p. However Blackmagic has not yet released a list showing which cameras are compatible and in what modes.You may also want to consider the Atomos Ninja Assassin. It is fully compatible with the XC10 and has the added benefit of being able to record 4k in Pro Res as well.

Q: 3. Just purchased. It devours my E6 batteries. Not sure what the power consumption is, but monitor lasted about 18m on one battery and about the same on newly purchased battery. 6 LP-E6 batteries were not enough for a 6hr set. Is this normal? I noticed another comment mentioning 2 batteries enough for a day of filming. Does this mean my device is defective and consuming power faster than normal?

A: This is not normal since 2 fully charged LP-E6 batteries should last about 3 hours, as long as the batteries are good. Please contact Blackmagic Design Technical Support.

Q: 4. I have a Sony NEX-EA50 with the external recorder, truly improve the image of the NEX-EA50 camera?

A: With an external recorder like the BM Video Assist, you can get uncompressed video from the EA50 and save to a high quality codec, assuring you of the highest possible image quality.

Q: 5. How to turn off the auto orientation?

Q: 6. In the product images the Video Assist has a histogram displayed. Does this monitor support other scopes: false color, vector, etc?

A: At this time, outside of histogram, audio meters, timecode display, and more it is not known exactly what the Blackmagic Video Assist will display. Please watch the B&H website for updates as they are known.

Q: 7. is there a sunhood available for this?

A: At this point we do not carry a hood specifically for the Video Assist. However the monitor has not yet been released so 3rd party manufactures have yet to create a lot of accessories for it, but eventually they will. Please keep an eye on our website for updates and new releases as they become available.

Q: 8. Are any of the video codex's supported by Prem Pro CS5?

A: The Pro Res codec can be downloaded for use in CS5 from Apple.

Q: 9. Will this give my a7iii unlimited recording?

A: The Video Assist 3G 5" only has 1 SD card slot so you can only record for as long as your SD card can fit. The 7" models are the ones with 2 SD card slots you can use for continuous recording.

Q: 10. is it possible to use an external drive instead of the SD cards?

A: The 3G models do not support external drive recording on the USB. You should consider the 12G models.
