The Shure UA874 Active Directional Antenna uses a log periodic dipole array to offer enhanced reception when directed toward the desired coverage area. An integrated amplifier and four gain settings compensate for varying degrees of coaxial cable signal loss. I had purchased 4 new Shure wireless units and racked them up in a church balcony system. First service with them and I had multiple drop outs and needed to solve the problem quickly. I ordered two of these from B&H and the arrived in time to get them installed before the next week's service. I have had 3 months of use and have had ZERO drop outs. I should have gone this route from the beginning. The antennas alone were just not enough to keep a solid signal connection. Super satisfied with the ease of install and the sleek look of these, but the real deal is the stellar performance. 5
