Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. I see the head has a level, but how do you level the camera without having to adjust the legs?

A: Adjusting the legs is the only way to level this tripod system. It does not have a leveling base.

Q: 2. There must be a simple way to flip a DSLR from a horizontal to vertical orientation on this tripod although I have not found it yet... is there an add on bit that I'm missing? Any other suggestions?

A: If you are not using very heavy setups, the Edelkrone FlexTILT Head could do the trick - BH #ED81655

Q: 3. What is the maximum height?

A: The maximum working height on this is 56.5" / 143.5 cm.

Q: 4. CAN I DOWNLOAD A MANUAL TO SEE. I AM HAVING DIFFICULTY WITH THIS PRODUCT?

A: Hi,There aren't any manuals for this. Tripods and tripod heads are sold separately, it's only retailers like B&H that put them together into a full ready-to-use set. I have had issues with the particular head I received (the ball head often comes loose when panning no matter how hard I lock it down, and the plate release tends to get stuck (just have to loosen it with an Allen wrench a bit)) but overall I've found it manageable. Adjustments are fairly common-sense. I don't know what you'd require a manual for. I did return this particular model and ordered another with a spreader at the feet. These legs are just too wide for use in the tight spaces I often operate in.

Q: 5. Will this tripod work with Sony FS7 and Canon C300 cinema cameras?

A: This tripod has a 15.4 lb. It will work with those cameras, if you keep the total load under 15.4 pounds.

Q: 6. What is the total weight of the head and legs (without the bag)?

A: This tripod system weighs 8.51 pounds.

Q: 7. Why would I add a 577 Quick Release plate? Looks like the head comes with a quick release.

A: It does, but I always buy extra plates because I have several different cameras and it's a pain in the butt to have to remove the plate from one camera to another. Also, if you are starting out and plan on buying more than one tripod, stay with the same brand so that you only need one style of plate.I made the mistake of buying 2 Davis-Sanford tripods when I started out and later wanted higher quality tripod/head system. That's when I changed over to Manfrotto and soon learned on set, that I didn't have the right plates and then had to switch plates on the go. (It was a real pain and inconvenient)

Q: 8. Will this work with the Blackmagic Design Studio 4K Pro?

A: Yes, the Manfrotto 502AH Video Head & MT055XPRO3 Aluminum Tripod Kit can hold a Blackmagic Design Studio 4K Pro.

Q: 9. Can I mount a small telescope with a vixen rail?

A: This would not be compatible with a vixen rail.

Q: 10. Is the spreader removable? And what’s the lowest height?

A: The minimal working height for this tripod is 22.44". The spreader is removable.
