The HDX-W100 HDMI over Cat5e/6 Wall Plate Receiver from Smart-AVI receives HDMI signals from 150' away via a single Cat5e/6 cable. The receiver supports high-resolution video up to 1080p 60 Hz, and features bidirectional IR communication so you can easily control the video source. The unit is powered via the included 12V power adapter.

Q: 1. Hi, does the Smart AVI need a PC to run alongside it? Or is it self contained?

A: This system is basically a PC in a black box and does not require connection to another computer. It will operate and stand alone.

Q: 2. What is the dimension from the back of the plate to the far end of the receiver?

A: It is about 3 inches from the back of this plate to the far end of the receiver.

Q: 3. Will this Smart-AVI V2V-HDAV HDMI TO Composite RCA Downscaler output 240p?

A: The Smart-AVI V2V-HDAV HDMI to Composite RCA Downscale with HDMI Loop Output supports up to 60hz. It would not be able to output 240p.

Q: 4. How much weight is this rated for in a ceiling mount configuration?

A: The support weight is about 22lbs.

Q: 5. Can the RS-232 control and infrared control be used at the same time? I have experienced matrix switches where you start entering your from and to with infrared, and when a command comes in on RS232 it resets the infrared command and you have to start over.

A: The RS-232 and the IR can be controlled at the same time on the HDR-8x8-Plus.

Q: 6. Can I rotate the image on the top two TVs through this switch? I installed the top two TVs upside down.

A: The Smart-AVI 4K-Wall Video Wall Controller and Matrix does not support image flip or rotation.

Q: 7. Is the 4th hdmi a true video port? I have one sun that needs to keep it's keyboard, but video would be fine switched though kvm

A: The 4th port is for a MHL device like a compatible smartphone, or tablet.

Q: 8. so example this will play blue-ray player with example 3 tv or 3 monitors hooked up in the input device and play it out of the 3 outputs I want to know before I buy if these are not splitters?

A: This Smart-AVI product is both a Video Wall Controller and a Matrix Switcher. A Matrix Switcher allows you to send any input to any output. This has 4 inputs and 4 outputs. You can set it to have 1 input go to all 4 outputs or every input to go to a different output.

Q: 9. How big are the holes and what' the spacing? Was thinking of putting some magnets on this and want to get some ideas on sizes

A: The larger holes are 5mm, and the smaller 3mm. From center to center the large holes are 5.5 cm apart. From center to center the small holes are 3.5 cm apart. The entire plate is approximately 7.5cm x 14.5cm

Q: 10. Will this receive a full size C-stand riser?

A: Yes, the opening is 1 1/8 which is standard for most C stand columns.

I used this to make a Courtesy Table. You take a short C-Stand like a Gary Coleman, a Pancake Apple Box, and a Baby Receiver Wall Plate and put them all together to make a Courtesy Table. If I was a Grip, the first thing I would do is make a Courtesy Table for the Director and put it next to his chair; I would bet that you would be hired again! 5

I've been using this for holding bottles and other fairly small stuff in my product photography, and also to place light with some magnetic plates. Snaps on every lighting stand with ease. Also great for mounting light at weird angles! 5

I wanted a posing table, but knowing I wouldn't use it that much, there was no way I was going to spend a lot of ,money on one. And, many of the lesser posing tables get some bad reviews. So, because I already had everything except a way to connect the table top to legs, this turned out to be a simple, inexpensive solution! Works great -though not the most stable, good enough for my needs. 5

I use this and the other plate with a baby pin and a matthews gag to get perfect alignment of items that will eventually sit on the plate. As apposed to mounting this plate as a base, I find many uses as a platform for a table mount... 5
