Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Will this fit the Canon R3?

A: Unfortunately, the Kirk PZ-17 Universal Camera Plate with QD Port would not fit a full body camera like a Canon EOS R3 Mirrorless Camera. You could use the Really Right Stuff Baseplate for Canon EOS R3, which is a dedicated Arca-Type base plate for the Canon EOS R3 Mirrorless Camera: https://bhpho.to/3rQYhl4. .

Q: 2. Compatible with Panasonic lumix G9?

A: While the G9 is not on Zhiyun Tech's list as compatible for control with the gimbal, you will be able to balance and shoot with that camera on this gimbal.

Q: 3. Could the head be tilted to 90 portrait mode?

A: No. This tripod & tripod-head is more for landscape-mode videography / film, where smooth pans and tilts are needed.

Q: 4. Can you operate tripod with just one handle (right-side)?

A: Yes, both handles are removable and can attach to either side.

Q: 5. How well does this work with lighter camcorders (like 1-2 lbs)? It looks like it's geared more for big shoulder cameras.

A: This tripod will work perfectly fine with a light camcorder.

Q: 6. How do I adjust the tilt on this tripod? I can't seem to find any knobs that make it tighter

A: What do you mean tilt? The drag is on the left hand side of the head, and there is a ball on the bottom to tighten the ball head which will allow it to move in all directions.

Q: 7. Will this fit a Leica M body?

A: No, this is made specifically for the Sony Alpha a9, a7R III, a7 III, and Fujifilm X-H1 camera bodies.

Q: 8. I already asked this, but I suppose I was not clear enough. I would like to know exactly what comes with this tripod and fluid head with the exception of the obvious (obvious being the BIG stuff, like the actual head, the two sticks, the quick release plate, and the tripod itself). So other than that, what else is supposed to come with it? Tools? Little parts? Rubber pieces? That kind of stuff. I feel like I might be missing one or two small things and I have no idea how to figure out if I am or not.

A: Not a bad question, because the instructions mentions an Allen key. The tripod does not come with a traditional Allen key. After scratching my head upon receiving this purchase, I contacted the company who noted: The 7518 comes with this nylon plastic key that attaches/clips on to one of the legs. This key has a nut holder used to tighten the leg lever locks should the legs slip. This is a small, circular item that should be in a tiny ziplock bag floating around your tripod bag, or in the zipped compartment in your bag (where the tripod handles are stored). Its also fairly important for the long-term use of the tripod. Other than that, and the parts you mentioned (tripod, head, plate, handles), it does come with the storage/travel bag and a bag strap (that is not fastened to the bag, but also found inside of it). Hope thats helpful, and happy new year.

Q: 9. How easy/hard is it to detach a camera from the tripod?

A: Push a release button near plate mount and slide out. Simple. But at that point the mount plate is still attached to the camera but it does not get in the way. Better to leave on camera during a shoot so you can easily slide back onto the tripod. Slide, click , done. It is a shame they didn't use reticulating wing nut to secure the plate to the camera but have used a slot head circular screw head so you need to carry a coin or wide shorts crew driver with you. Overall I find this tripod reliable strurdy for its class and value. Being able to slide the plate to balance the camera and the dual handles is Good too. it lacks head inertia or tension adjustment but you will pay more elsewhere.

Q: 10. Is there a QD System hole in the bottom?

A: Yes, our current stock has the QD socket.
