A Hoya 55mm FL-D Fluorescent Hoya Multi-Coated (HMC) Glass filter is used when you wish to correct for the greenish tone that appears when shooting daylight film under general purpose fluorescent lighting.

NOTE: The FL series of filters alone does not always guarantee 100% correct color balance when shooting under fluorescent lighting. They are general purpose filters intended for moderate correction and will not, by themselves, necessarily provide perfect color rendition.

An FL-W filter is used to balance daylight film under warm white or white type fluorescent lamps. An FL-B filter is used to correct the color balance when shooting tungsten film under fluorescent lighting.

Fluorescent lamps burn at many different temperatures and often require more demanding filtration for exact results. For specific filtration and professional use, it is strongly recommended that a color temperature meter be employed along with Color Correction filters (i.e.CC30M) when shooting under fluorescent lighting. This is the only proven way to achieve exact color correction.

Multicoated to minimize reflection at the filter surfaces which reduces flare and ghosting.

As one of the premier filter manufacturers, Hoya filters continue to made from quality glass assuring the photographer clear, sharp and accurate images

Hoya filters consistently provide even color all the way through the filter; All surfaces are ground and polished to specific thickness and tolerances

Even non-multi-coated Hoya filters have one layer of anti-reflective coating applied to each surface of the glass; Hoya's single layer coating decreases light reflection off the surface from approx. 9% to an average of 4-5%

Q: 1. What happened if i mount it to full frame Sigma FP? How does it affect to crop factor in this case?

A: Metabones recommends when using the Metabones Canon FD/FL-Mount Lens to L-Mount Speed Booster ULTRA 0.71x on a full-frame camera, you would need to activate the camera's APS-C crop mode for best performance. The Sigma fp Mirrorless Camera has a DC Crop mode for APS-C lenses, which limits the recording area of the image sensor for APS-C size. When using the camera's DC Crop Mode, the crop factor will be the equivalent of 1.07x.It is not recommended to use the camera in full-frame mode. If you choose to do so, there will be a large, black vignette around the outside of the image where light is blocked from exposing the sensor.

Q: 2. How will this lens work with a Nikon F6? Has anyone tried it with an F6 and notified if there are any problems or compatibility issues with any features?

A: No, the Nikon AF-S NIKKOR 70-200mm f/2.8E FL ED VR Lens is not fully compatible with the Nikon F6 35mm SLR Autofocus Camera. One would not have any aperture control, and the aperture would stay wide open.

Q: 3. Will this perform well on the D500?

A: It's a winning combo. I just shot two weeks of high school sports with it;(on the D500, D750), basketball, hockey, fencing, and wrestling. Super happy with the results.

Q: 4. What does the FL mean in the description (FL ED VR) as to compared to the (ED VR) ??

A: Fluorite (also called fluorspar) is the mineral form of calcium fluoride, CaF2. It belongs to the halide minerals. It crystallizes in isometric cubic habit, although octahedral and more complex isometric forms are not uncommon.Fluorite is a colorful mineral, both in visible and ultraviolet light, and the stone has ornamental and lapidary uses. Industrially, fluorite is used as a flux for smelting, and in the production of certain glasses and enamels. The purest grades of fluorite are a source of fluoride for hydrofluoric acid manufacture, which is the intermediate source of most fluorine-containing fine chemicals. Optically clear transparent fluorite lenses have low dispersion, so lenses made from it exhibit less chromatic aberration, making them valuable in microscopes and telescopes. Fluorite optics are also usable in the far-ultraviolet and mid-infrared ranges, where conventional glasses are too absorbent for use.

Q: 5. I have 2 other Nikon Lens, one has 18-200 3.5 and the other is 70-300 4.0. Will I notice the difference with the 70-200 2.8. I like shooting indoors with bad lightening.

A: I totally agree with the other answers below. The 70-200 f2.8 is a professional lens able to be used at a constant f2.8 aperture. Indoor sporting events are difficult with any camera. Low light is low light. This lens will give you a much better result than the other lenses you mentioned.

Q: 6. Is it come with free NPM card?

A: No card is included

Q: 7. Is this compatible with a D3400?

A: Yes, it will fit and work, but it's probably not the lens for you. The D3400 is a DX cropped sensor camera. The lens is a FX full-frame lens. So this lens will act something like a 105-300mm lens on your camera. This is a very heavy, very bulky, professional lens. It's so heavy, your neck will start hurting after about 10 minutes, so you'll want to buy a sling instead of using a neck strap. It's really way overkill for your camera. You'll be spending a lot of money that you'll never see the benefit from.I'd suggest the Nikon DX 55-200 or DX 70-300. Much less expensive and more appropriate for your camera. Later, when you buy the $2700 camera, you can buy the $2700 lens.

Q: 8. Silly question here. Did anyone tried to use different hoods like HB-29 (from VR1) or HB-48 (VR2) on this lens? Does it fit well?

A: I'm sorry, I have not tried other hoods. I would caution the casual experimenter that a hood is generally carefully designed for its host lens. I should be as long and as small a diameter as possible to provide maximum shielding of extraneous light, but yet not a bit too small or too long because of vignetting. For a zoom lens, those requirements must be met at both minimum and maximum focal lengths.

Q: 9. I see the HB-78 lens hood listed in the In the Box section on the Overview page, but it is not hot-linked like some of the other items. So is it included, or is it an item that must be purchased separately?

A: The lens hood is included. It also has a locking button that has to be pushed in order to remove the lens hood. New??? I like that feature.

Q: 10. Is the Autofocus of this lens compatible with Z7 and FTZ? I see the answer which indicates that it works with Z7 and FTZ but I want to make sure that also implies the Autofocus function. Thank you.

A: Yes, this lens will autfocus with the Z7 and FTZ adapter.
