Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Would Sandisk Extreme SD card, 95 mbs be sufficient for the A7c? I'm only shooting stills and not more than 3 or 4 frame raw bursts.

A: Yes the sandisk extreme would still be sufficient for that type of shooting, but in the off chance you do some burst shooting and what not, I would recommend getting an Extreme Pro card.

Q: 2. Just received my SL2 and noticed it rattles when lightly shaken or quickly moved. Is this normal?

A: Hi Gary, This is completely normal. When the camera is turned off the in body image stabilizer (IBIS) is not active allowing the sensor to move and rattle when shaking the camera. Once the camera is on the sensor is stationary. Enjoy your new SL2!

Q: 3. Can you use a mic without the top handle?

A: Unfortunately, the XLR ports are built into the top handle.

Q: 4. I have a Leica CL. I know I can use these lenses on the SL2 and I know that I will have about a 20 MP image, but what will be the effective focal lengths, for example, what would be the focal length equivalents of my 11-23mm TL lens on the SL2? 11-23 or 18-35?

A: Because the SL2 is cropping the image down to about 20mp, it is the same as using a crop frame sensor camera like the CL. Therefore the 11-23mm would look like a 17-35mm if you were comparing it to a full frame camera.

Q: 5. Is there less noise on the A7C than A6600/A6400 when upscaling by 2x?

A: The Sony Alpha a7C Mirrorless Digital Camera has a larger sensor than the Sony a6600 and a6400. So there is less issues with noise when up-scaling 2X.

Q: 6. Does this camera have an auto focus

A: Yes when the attached lens has the autofocus function and it works great.

Q: 7. Can you use the Canon EF series L lenses with the Leica SL2?

A: The Novoflex Canon EF Lens to Leica L-Mount Camera Electronic Adapter would be helpful to use Canon L series lenses on the Leica SL2. https://bhpho.to/2UURELk

Q: 8. Where is the camera made?

A: Thailand

Q: 9. Is camera generated timecode carried on the hdmi output?

A: The SL2 generates a Free Run or Rec Run Time Code and is written to the recorded file. It goes through HDMI. You can set a time or use the camera time. Free run means the timer continues whether the camera is recording or not. Rec run means the timer only runs while the camera is recording.

Q: 10. Does the a7c require UHS-II SD cards or will it take UHS-I also?

A: yes, you can use uhs-1 cards. for photo, you can use any sd cards. for video, if you want 4K 100mbps, you will need at least U3 or v30.
