Related Questions and Answers

Q: 1. Confused-Sony's product video says this will shoot 10-bit 4:2:2 at up to 120fps. But the specs here- and some of the answers in the Q&A - only list up to 59.94; no mention of 120fps. Which is correct, and what am I missing?

A: The FX6 is able to record 10-bit 4:2:2 up to 120 fps in 4K or 240fps in HD.

Q: 2. Is the sensor cropped at 240fps?

A: With the Sony FX6 Full-Frame Cinema Camera, 100/120/200/240fps footage is recorded in the full-frame shooting mode. Note: they are not available in tS35 mode.

Q: 3. Does the autofocus work if you use non native lenses through an adapter?

A: The very sophisticated AF and phase detection/eye autofocus are designed for the 50+ native lenses that will pair perfectly with this camera.

Q: 4. Can you use full frame Canon EF lens with an adapter without any issues?

A: Yes, you can.

Q: 5. can i use the sony 18-105 f4 aps-c lens on this camera?

A: Yes you can, in a cropped mode.

Q: 6. Can the LCD Monitor be adjusted to a different location on the camcorder?

A: No, the LCD has a specific mounting point that cannot be altered.

Q: 7. One of Sony's product images shows the FX6 attached to a super-telephoto lens, with the lens' foot extended. The manual for the FX6 warns against attaching the lens to a tripod, versus attaching the FX6 to the tripod. When using a supertelephoto lens with the FX6, what sort of hardware support is recomended? Thanks.

A: You would use a 15mm baseplate or cage that allows you to add Rods to the camera. When using rods you can attach additional lens support for the lens. Example 15mm baseplate kit https://bhpho.to/3rCWSxe 15mm rods for the baseplate above https://bhpho.to/3V2UgGB Lens support - https://bhpho.to/3RDCQgB

Q: 8. Can you still use Canon EF lens with an adapter without any issues?

A: Yes, but make sure these are full frame lenses.

Q: 9. What types of SteadyShot options does it have?

A: Using Sony's Catalyst Prepare/Browse software to use metadata to stabilize your image, automatically rotate gimbal footage, and add flags for easier clip filtering in post-production.

Q: 10. Will the FS7 or FX9 viewfinder loupe fit? or does the finder have the same port connection as the other cameras?

A: NO the FS7 Loupe will NOT fit and the viewfinder connector is different from that of the Fs7
